Dear Kelly,
Thank you for taking the time to review our marketing proposal with Chase Cam.
Our team is excited to find a recording product designed for auto racing. Traditional
tape recording systems will not work in the extreme race conditions of a
Supermodified car. We are excited to work with you on a marketing plan to put the
ChaseCam in front of tens of thousands of drivers and fans in 2008. Marketing with
McKeefery Racing will attract new customers to your business using inexpensive
and innovative techniques at the track and off the track, along with web and radio.
How will we work for you? First, the Supermodified car has a wide fan base that
includes race car drivers from other series. The Supermodified car is considered
the last true race car. These cars are one of the few Tier 2 traveling series that fills
the grandstands with fans as well as the pit stands. That means that other teams
will learn about your product.
Next, we add a media blitz with high quality press releases and online videos.
When we create our videos they include in-car and out-of-car picture in picture.
Fans from across the country will watch recorded supermodified videos. We
average about one thousand views per race. We can better that substantially by
adding in-car action.
Why do we need you? The cars pose a challenge for in-car video, they have no
on board battery (push started) and the G-force and vibrations in the Supermodified
are too extreme for a tape recording systems. Your solid-state product is a perfect
fit for these extreme race conditions.
Prior to moving into Supermodified racing, our team raced a Legends car. Every
race was recorded both in and out of car. Videos were created after the race and
posted to our website, YouTube, TiVo Channel, MySpace and other online video
sites. In 2006 we moved in to racing a Supermodified car. Video recordings
continued out-of-car but not in-car because the conditions in the Supermodified
made it impractical to record in-car. At one race, a TV crew installed a camera in
our car and we have used this to create our example which you’ll see in our proposal.
So you can see how our opportunity is unique. No west coast traveling series is as
respected as the Supermodified, and it shows based on how many people they
bring out to the races. We can deliver the promise to showcase your products.
In exchange of your sponsorship, we propose to create picture in picture videos with
in- and out-of-car action shots and incorporate your logo within the video. The
videos will be posted at YouTube, MySpace, and www.McKeeferyRacing.com and
several other racers web sites. Every press release will include your company
name with a link to the race mentioned and DVDs will be available in the pits.
In exchange we are in need of your equipment as detailed at the end of the
proposal.

When Martin McKeefery wheels his high-horsepower supermodified racecar onto the
asphalt at Spokane Raceway Park and Wenatchee Valley Super Oval, both in
Washington, he wants to quickly learn each track’s nuances so he can spend more time
focusing on being fast. The American Speed Association/Western States Supermodified
Racing League will be in Spokane Friday for a 40-lap main event, then travel south to
Wenatchee for a 50-lap main event on Saturday. Spokane is a one-half mile track;
Wenatchee is touted as the fastest quarter-mile in the world.
“The only other half-mile track I have been on was Altamont (Raceway Park,
California), where I blew my motor,” McKeefery said. “I’m not worried about blowing
my motor -- but the insane speed of these cars on a half-mile will take some getting
used to.” McKeefery, 19, a Milpitas, Calif., resident, is showing great consistency in his
sophomore year as a supermodified driver. He is solidly in third place in the 2007 point
standings.
“Coming from a one-half mile to a short quarter-mile track will be a huge shift in setup,
and all of those changes have to happen overnight,” he added. “And the car has to be
in one piece from the previous race.” Helping him make those changes on the racecar
will be veteran supermodified crewmen Richard Russell, Mike Reece and Joe LaGue.
“I have worked with Richard indirectly and he is a great asset joining our team. And for
Mike, I haven’t met him in person, but he has a wide variety of knowledge from
different racing series, including sprints. McKeefery said the list of to-do items for
general maintenance on the car is almost complete and the 2006 ASA/WSSRL Rookie of
the Year is ready to race. “Three races in eight days and 44 hours of travel time is
going to be physically demanding and challenging,” he said. “It will be more of a
survival run than anything else.”
