VIAGGIO A LEVANTE
Prosegue sulla rotta dei viaggi la fonte di ispirazione per Doria 1905
Come i viaggiatori di inizio secolo che salpavano da Brindisi verso mete esotiche,
la nuova collezione è un affascinante viaggio verso Sud Est da Oria a Levante attraverso il Salento,
navigando verso il porto di Jaffa.
Prosegue l’immaginario viaggio nello spazio e nel tempo di Doria 1905, partendo dalle radici culturali della terra salentina rivisitate in chiave contemporanea. Quattro temi raccontano storie in cui il
passato disegna il presente, culture e suggestioni che rivivono, trasfigurate, nelle forme del presente.
Il cappello che si colora delle emozioni della terra di origine e degli approdi futuri.
BAROCCO

Doria1905
Il tema “city” di Doria 1905 è interpretato attraverso linee pure e colori neutri e sussurrati. Dai materiali grezzi a quelli più preziosi, l’eleganza sobria e sofisticata cerca nella tradizione spunti inediti
e di grande pregio. Il filo conduttore della collezione è il “punto Maglie”, un’antica tecnica di ricamo
tipica del territorio, che veste i cappelli con i caratteristici motivi, stampati sui capi. Lo stesso pizzo
si trasforma in una cinta per i capi speciali, realizzabili su ordinazione. La linea BAROCCO nasce da
materiali naturali, lino puro e micro pied-de-poule, declinati nei toni chiarissimi che spaziano dal
panna al grigio, dal sabbia al sale. I patchwork, tipici di casa Doria, giocano sulle tonalità candide
del panna e dei colori naturali. Le nuance calde del tufo e delle sabbie sono accostate al grigio roccia
e al nero saraceno. Bianco e Nero creano armonie eleganti e raffinate.
VIA TERRA

Lo spirito del viaggiatore dei primi anni del Novecento è quello di un pioniere che ama gli spazi aperti, di un avventuriero dall’anima hipster e chic, che ruba i colori profondi del paesaggio assolato e
selvaggio, di un esploratore raffinato e inusuale. Finibus Terrae: è così che venivano definite le terre
salentine, vibranti di colori forti e profumi intensi che accendevano emozioni e rimanevano impressi
nei ricordi. Tessuti primitivi e superfici materiche, Canvas e tela Olona, paglie intrecciate di erba
grezza e tessuti a micro fantasie in toni ricchi di contrasti. Le nuance sono naturali e scelgono i toni
della terra e del cuoio, il verde scuro dei pini, l’amaranto profondo del “Primitivo”.
OLTREMARE

Il viaggio prosegue via mare oltre il canale di Otranto puntando a Oriente. Negli occhi dei naviganti
di inizio secolo si leggono tutti i toni del mare. Ecco classici Panama e cotoni, lini leggeri, pois e paglie naturali a rendere rilassanti e avventurose al tempo stesso le crociere in mare aperto.
I colori abbracciano tutti i toni del bianco, passando verso blu accesi da una frizzante nota di mandarino, abbinandosi agli abiti estivi freschi e candidi. Il tema racconta lo stile marinière d’antan, puro
e raffinato, strizzando l’occhio agli anni Sessanta.
A LEVANTE

L’approdo respira i profumi dell’Est e i suoi colori profondi e opulenti. E’ un souvenir dalle dimore
saracene delle coste di Finibus Terrae. Come una valigia carica delle emozioni di un viaggio che volge sulla Via delle Indie, i profumi e le sensazioni si trasformano, lo spirito si rilassa lasciando spazio
a fantasie multicolore e azzardate. E’ il tema più forte della collezione, dai tratti decisi, per i volumi
ricercati e i colori forti. La valigia delle Indie è carica di Panama Quito, lini stampati e paglie coloratissime. Tinte che ricordano i sapori intensi, il rosso scuro del Negramaro, i toni accesi delle spezie,
la luce preziosa delle pietre dure, i toni leggeri delle acque trasparenti.
JOURNEY TO LEVANTE
The source of inspiration for Doria 1905 continues to travel
Just as in the early 20th century travellers set sail from Brindisi for exotic destinations,
the new collection is a fascinating south-eastward journey from Oria to Levante passing through
Salento, heading for the port of Jaffa.
The imaginary journey by Doria 1905 through space and time continues, starting from the cultural
roots of Salento which have been reinterpreted in the present. Four themes tell stories in which the
past designs the present, cultures and influences are transfigured and given new life in present forms. The hat is enveloped by the emotions of its native land and future landing points.
BAROQUE

The “city” theme of Doria 1905 is interpreted through simple styles and neutral, whispered colours.
From the rustic to the more precious materials, sober and sophisticated elegance explores traditions
in search of new, prestigious ideas. The recurring theme of the collection is a stitch called “Maglie”,
a local embroidery technique from a bygone era, which adorns the hats with its characteristic motifs,
printed on the articles. The same lace becomes a band for special, made-to-order articles.
The BAROCCO line originates from natural materials, pure linen and micro pied-de-poule, which
come in the lightest shades that range from cream to grey, from sand to salt. The patchworks, typical of Doria, play on the candid shades of cream and natural colours. The warm nuances of tuff and
sand are matched with rock grey and Saracen black. Black and White create elegant, sophisticated
harmonies.
OVERLAND

The spirit of the early 20th century traveller is that of a pioneer who loves open spaces, of an adventurer with a hipster chic soul, who steals the deep colours of the wild and sun-kissed landscape, of
a refined, unusual explorer. Finibus Terrae: this is what the Salento lands were known as, pulsating
with strong colours and intense fragrances which ignited emotions and remained impressed in memory. Primitive fabrics and materic surfaces, Canvas and sailcloth, straw woven with rough grass
and fabrics with micro-patterns in rich contrasting shades. The nuances are natural and choose
earthy and leathery shades, the dark green of the pines, and the deep amaranth of the “Primitivo”.
OVERSEAS

The journey continues by sea beyond the Otranto canal heading eastwards. The eyes of the early 20th
century sailors reveal all the tones of the sea. There are the classic Panamas and cottons, light linens,
polka dots and natural straw to make open sea cruises both relaxing and adventurous. The colours
embrace all shades of white, heading towards strong blues from a lively note of mandarin, to match
with cool, candid summer clothes. The theme evokes the classic sailor style, pure and refined, giving
a friendly wink to the Sixties.
EASTWARD

The landing embraces the fragrances of the East and its deep, luxurious colours. It is a souvenir from
the Saracen residences of the Finibus Terrae coasts. Like a suitcase filled with emotions of a journey
heading towards the Indies Route, the fragrances and the sensations transform, the spirit relaxes leaving room to multi-coloured far-fetched prints. The distinctive features, sophisticated volumes and
strong colours make it the strongest theme of the collection. The suitcase for the Indies is filled with
Panama Quito, printed linens and colourful straw. Colours which bring to mind intense flavours, the
dark red of the Negramaro, the bright shades of the spices, the precious light of the gemstones, the
light shades of the transparent waters.
