Hello Falcon Families,
We have come to the end of another great year at FHC. As we begin to make plans
for summer, let’s not forget about becoming more involved in PTA next year! Many
of our 5th grade parents are moving on to Middle School and there will be plenty
opportunities for you to participate in the events and activities the PTA supports at
FHC.
The nominations are in for those wishing to serve on next year’s executive
committee however there are many events throughout the school year such as Bike
and Safety Fair, Falcon Festival, Field Day, Grounds Beautification to mention a few.
We need parents to step up and not only lead these critical events but be an active
participant in the planning and running of these events. With our school population
at over 1000 students, in order for these events to continue, we are going to need you
to be a part of these teams to ensure our students continue to enjoy the best we as
their PTA has to offer.

Field Day is set for Friday, May 9th. Don't miss
the opportunity to volunteer for this fun event. We
need 48 volunteers for each session! If you have
never been, the kids come out and participate in all
of the sporting activities and games at their leisure.
The volunteers man the games and cheer the kids
on. The sessions are:

We deposited $8,940 in March
For the month of March, we had the following income: $7,085 in remaining
Boosterthon collections, $994 from the 5th grade Dance Pre-orders, $500 from
Spirit Nights, $235 from yearbook sales, $106 from Uniforms, $21 in donations
& interest.
We spent $17,815 in March
Our Expenses for March include: $84 for paper and bank fees, $8,918 related to
Fundraisers ($5,509 for classroom support using funds from Boosterthon
collections, $2,950 in Boosterthon fundraiser costs, $370 in additional classroom
support from Falcon Festival funds, $62.08 in Box Tops/Labels shipping, &
$26.50 in Uniforms) $6,015 in PTA projects was for yearbooks, $204 Misc was
for Survey Monkey, $2,083 in Program Support for 5th Gr Events from the
Dance, $511 in Recognition for Terrific Kids, Principal Honor Roll Breakfast &
Counselor Appreciation.

FHC PTA. It is published the last week of
each month of the school year, plus a
summer edition. It is designed to keep our
families informed of all of the activities of
the FHC PTA.
Submissions are due the third
Wednesday of the month and should be
emailed to the newsletter editor.

Our iPod shuffle Raffle is coming up! Send in bags of exactly 50 trimmed and unexpired
Box Tops for your entry. May 23rd is the last day for collections this school year before
we mail everything in.
We raised more than $2,650 from Box Tops & Tyson Project A+ Labels this year. Help
us reach our goal of $5,000 raised by bringing in your Box Tops & Tyson Project A+
Labels by May 23rd.
We received 20 new Scholastic Books from the Book Bonanza Bonus Offer that we
donated to our Media Center from redeeming 3K Labels for Education UPCs and
banked 11,305 L4E (Labels for Education) points by pasting those 3,000 UPCs to Bonus
Collection Sheets. These points will be redeemed for school equipment that support our
Specials. Keep bringing in your Labels for Education UPCs to help us mail in another
1K+ UPCs in May for the Double your UPCs Offer!
Remember our last mailing for Box Tops & L4E is May 23rd so please turn in all your
Box Tops & Labels by then. Box Tops & Labels in any amount count toward monthly
incentives, but only bags of exactly 50 trimmed & unexpired Box Tops with "50" written
on the bag will also count as an entry for the iPod Shuffle drawing during the May Box
Tops & Labels winners announcement on the Morning Show.

Dear Falcon Families,
Our 2013 - 2014 Volunteer / Business Appreciation Breakfast will be held on Tuesday May 20, 2014 at 8:30 in the
multipurpose room. We know that FishHawk Creek is a great place for students to learn because of our active PTA,
supportive parent volunteers and Business Partners! With this in mind, we cordially invite all volunteers, PTA Board
Members, homeroom mothers, tutors, lunch bunch helpers, Media Center volunteers, Business/ Community Partners and
everyone who helps us in any capacity to join us as we celebrate and thank you for your heartfelt commitment to our
school. It takes all of us collectively working together to make FishHawk Creek Elementary an outstanding school! We

Summer Reading opportunities - This summer, there are numerous fun ways to "Fizz, Boom, Read" by reading on
myON Reader, books from the Public Library and axis 360 ebooks. Your child can enter the myON Summer Reading
Challenge to win weekly prizes or even the grand prize, a mini-ipad! Your child can "Get into Gear" with Summer
Reading by visiting the website www.ReadonmyON.com starting on June 9th for all the latest details on the Summer 2014
Reading Challenge. Have your child participate and be one of the weekly winners! All they need to do is read one of the
books from the weekly selection (by grade level) answer the questions and that's it! Some of the weekly prizes include:
books, removable tatoos, movie passes, t-shirts, certificates and other surprises!
