Among the prizes offered in that raffle were two parcels of land, gold
and silver watches and 25 head of cattle! While we are not offering land,

Known by youth as
“Woodshop,” a special
activity has been open to
neighborhood youth ages
11-18 at Holy Cross Immaculate
Heart of Mary Parish. Youth
stop in Thursday evenings
and Saturdays to work on
several different woodworking
machines to create simple to intricate projects. Some
of the items created are for gifts for their family, while
other items are offered for sale to benefit local youth
activities. This is just one way to show the youth in the
area they can use their creative talents – and come in
from the streets.
