Thisapplianceproducesdistilledwaterbyusingtheoldest,mosteffective
methodofwatertreatment–steamdistillation.WhentheDistilleris
operating,thewatertemperaturerisesto212°F(100°C),killingbacteria,
cysts,andvirusesthatmaybepresent.Asboilingwater!convertsto
steam@,itrisesandleavesbehinddeadmicrobes,dissolvedsolids,salts,
heavymetals,andothersubstances.Lowboilinglightgasesthatmaybe
presentaredischargedthroughthegaseousvent#.Steamisthencooled
inthestainlesssteelcondenser$,turningitintodistilledwaterwhich
percolatesthroughafinalpolishingcoconutshellcarbonfilter%to
enhancequalitybyadsorptionofVOCs(volatileorganiccompounds),
theniscollectedintheglasscollection/storagebottle^.

Oncewaterrunsclearthroughthefilter,toensureoptimumwaterpurity, sterilizefiltercupbyfullyimmersinginboilingwaterforaboutfivemin- utes.DONOTmicrowave.Carefullyremovefiltercupfromboilingwater andallowtocoolbeforehandling.Rinsebrieflywithboiledordistilled waterbeforeinstalling.

3. Fillstainlesssteeltankto“FULL”linewithapproximately1gallon
(3.8liters)ordinarytapwater.DONOTOVERFILL(fig.F).
Toavoidriskofspilling,useapitchertofilltheboilertank.
4. Besurefiltercupislockedinplace(fig.D).
5. Replacecoveronboilertankandplugfancordintoreceptacle.
6. Removeadaptercoverfromcollection/storagebottlelidandalign
openingunderfiltercup(fig.B).
7. Plugpowercordintoaproperlyrated,groundedoutlet.
8. PressresetbuttontoturnonDistiller.Redindicatorwilllightand
fanmotorwillstart(fig.B).
9. Afterabout30minutes,distilledwaterwillbegintofillcollection/
storagebottle.Whencycleiscomplete(approximatelyfourhoursfor
1gallon),Distillerturnsoffautomatically.Waitatleast30minutes
beforeliftingorremovingcover!

ofwaterprocessed(whichevercomesfirst).Replacemoreoftenshouldthe distilledwaterbegintohaveanunwantedtasteorodor.Rinseandsterilize newfiltercupperinstructionsonpages5and6.Discardfirstgallonof
distilledwaterasitmaycontainsmall,harmlesscarbonfines.Order
