using Rocket CorVu.
Conwed—a Leucadia National company based in Minneapolis—manufactures high-performance plastic
products used for reinforcement, containment and separation applications. Conwed serves major
markets ranging from consumer packaged goods to building materials and beyond.
Tired of using Microsoft Excel as a scorecarding solution—and recognizing that it needed a much better
Balanced Scorecard reporting tool—Conwed set out to find the right solution to meet its controller’s
financial reporting needs. “We had 40 to 50 spreadsheets linked together,” says Tom Dippold, Process
Project Manager at Conwed. “It was getting cumbersome, and we needed real-time reporting functionality at our fingertips.” In addition, the company needed to find a solution that would work with its recently
upgraded version of its ERP software, Baan.
When Conwed selected Rocket CorVu for its scorecarding and reporting needs, it had no idea how much

feature makes it possible to view the items impacting each objective, providing a high-level or highly

• The CorBusiness query and reporting system connects to any database to automate metrics and
provides on demand access to detailed facts, metrics and numbers indicative of performance.
• CorPortfolio allows users to create integrated, robust, online briefing books and dashboards quickly and

With Rocket CorVu, Conwed deployed a unified solution for both tactical analysis and strategic management, resulting in a robust, integrated platform for reporting, multi-dimensional analysis, executive
dashboards, and Balanced Scorecards. “It took less than eight weeks for Conwed to be up and running,
and actively using CorVu,” says Dippold. “Plus, we developed a very strong working relationship with the
Rocket CorVu team. Any time we have any issues, which isn’t very often, the CorVu team happily jumps
right in to assist.”
