Mass intentions are requests made of the priests to include an intention as they offer the Sacrifice of the Mass. (+ = deceased) “Make a throne of your hands to receive your King.” (Saint Cyril of Jerusalem 348 A.D.) Taking the host with two fingers or placing your hands side by side so the Host might fall though is not appropriate. One hand should be UNDER the other to take the Host and place it in your mouth. When the minister says, “The body of Christ.” the correct response is, Amen! (Translation: So be it!). Profound bow (from the waist) and genuflecting before the communion are not designated in the General instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM). Both can cause accidents. People have tripped over those genuflecting in the Communion line. Intinction (dipping the Sacred Host into the Precious Blood) is permitted ONLY by a priest or deacon. Reminder to Parents of Students in Eucharistic Prep II and Special Sacramental Prep II: First Holy Communion practice (including a MANDATORY parents' meeting) will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 23, in the church. We ask all of you, our Saint Paul / Saint Francis family, to pray for our First Communion students and families. Your prayers and support matter so much! May God bless you for it. Our Gift Shoppe will be open the weekend of April 23rd & WORD OF LIFE 24th. Come see gift suggestions for “Assisted suicide may sound like it provides choices for Mother’s Day, First Communion, individuals, but instead, it's taking choices away from Confirmation, and Baptism. If you need to order a special item that’s not people by radically weakening the promise of care and in stock, you can reach us at [email protected] to place support at the end of life for terminally ill patients like me.” your order. All profits from the Gift Shoppe are donated to parish “Maggie’s Story: Living like Dad,” www.goo.gl/JKnvWc USCCB Secretariat of Proministries and local charities. Life Activities.
