Help us celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday in March
Who doesn’t love The Cat in the Hat?
For generations, children have grown up with the whimsical stories of
Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. Each year, we celebrate
Dr. Seuss’ birthday (March 2) with Read Across America, a program that
encourages children to develop a lifelong love of reading.
Here are a few Dr. Seuss programs to add to your child’s calendar.
Bayou Blue Branch
Dr. Seuss Storytime: March 2, 3 p.m. For children and tweens. Also, look
for turtles in the secret garden and win a prize.
Golden Meadow Branch
Dr. Seuss Craft for Kids: March 1, 4 p.m.
Larose Branch
Welcome to Seussville: March 8, 10:30 a.m. & 4:30 p.m. At 4:30 p.m.,
celebrate with a reading of The Lorax, cake, and more. Each child will
receive a memento to take home.
Lockport Branch
Dr. Seuss Celebration: March 1, 11:30 a.m., after Storytime. Enjoy a Dr.
Seuss story, a craft, and cake.
Raceland Branch
Dr. Seuss Celebration: March 2, 3:30 p.m. Enjoy a reading of The Lorax,
cupcakes, punch, and more.
South Lafourche Branch
Dr. Seuss Celebration: March 2. Join staff members for readings of Dr.
Seuss’ works throughout the day.
Thibodaux Branch
Dr. Seuss Celebration: March 2, 3:30 p.m. Enjoy Dr. Seuss stories and

Thibodaux Branch to host Jubilee musical performances

University’s 50th anniversary celebration, the Cajun band for some Cajun music history and a musical
festival is now an annual spring event. Check out the performance.
