Experience People. Innovative Technology. Remarkable Results. June 2014 WORDS FROM MATT ROCCO Hello ETECH! Welcome to our June newsletter! Persevering during tough times is a reality that we will face. How we choose to persevere is a decision that we all must make. How ETECH survives challenging times will be determined by the individual choice that each of us makes! Mahatma Gandhi, also known as father of the nation in India, once said that organizations that fail to persevere are much like ten men trying to get a wagon up a hill. Two push the wagon from behind, two men sit in the wagon shouting instructions to the ones pushing, and the remaining six men stand on the roadside, idly cheering them on. Many of us have seen this analogy played out in real life circumstances and it is not a pretty picture. The world has taught us that perseverance is an individual thing. We are told to “suck it up”. We have been taught that “when the going gets tough, the tough get going”. How many times have you heard the words of “encouragement” to “keep you nose to the grindstone”? While I know that we are called to “lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us …”, I also believe that when we face these tough or weighty situations, we are not expected to persevere alone! I encourage each of you to get out of the wagon, to step onto the road and to lend a hand. The ETECH family will only overcome the challenges we face if we choose to persevere together. Please consider the following: During the past few weeks have you been idle, complacent, judgmental, or complaining? If so, what can you do differently to approach today with a different attitude? What does it look like for you to help “push the wagon” at ETECH this week? Who can you encourage this week? What can you do to make your encouragement be more than just words from the roadside? Experienced People. Innovative Technology. Remarkable Results. 2 While the last few months have been tough on all of us, there are many great things going on ETECH. We will persevere and the tough times will get easier! Please consider the following: Several new programs will be launching in our various centers within the next month. These new and exciting brands are much needed additions to our portfolio of clients. Our award winning ICE technology is taking the industry by storm. We have signed a few critical clients and have generated much interest in the marketplace. I am very excited to see how our ETS technology division evolves over the next 12 months! Our EMS Team and the solutions they provide are also beginning to receive some well deserved recognition in the industry. We have been diligent in transforming our India operations from a provider of traditional call center services to a full blown BPO solutions provider. This transformation has not been easy, but the long term commitment and return on our BPO vision will be worth the effort, patience, perseverance and faith. Thank you all for everything that you do to make ETECH a great place to work and play. I promise you that I will choose to not let tough times and challenges bring me down. I choose to bring a positive attitude to work each day. I will choose to persevere, to encourage, to value each of you … every day. Will you choose to join me? Until next month, may God bless each of you and may He continue to watch over our company. Have a great day! 12 Etech Leadership Characteristics About Etech Global Services Etech Global Services is a leading provider of intelligent sales and service solutions utilizing inbound and outbound voice INTEGRITY and live chat. Nimisha Vyas from Time Warner Cable eCare just proved it to us. From day one, it has been observed that her cubicle is very well managed and it is kept tidy and organized everyday at any given point in time. These organizational skills and clarity reflects in her thought process too which can be easily seen in her numbers as well. No wonder she’s one among the top performers. Kudos to her for efforts and discipline! ETECH Lufkin Give Back ETECH strives to make a Remarkable difference in our Communities. For each product recycled, we are helping give back to our environment, even one plastic bottle or aluminum can is a tremendous help to a better tomorrow. Just think if each person recycled one item a day what a difference could be made, and that difference starts with YOU. Thank you Etech employees for caring about our earth. Plastic Recycling Facts Aluminum Recycling Facts Plastics are an important part of our modern lives. They are used to manufacture many of the products that we use on a daily basis like containers, toys, and furniture. This large use of plastics means we need to make an effort to recycle it. Currently plastics make up more than 12 percent of our trash. Aluminum cans are the world’s premiere example of a recyclable waste. Recycling aluminum requires less than five (5) percent of the energy required to make it from bauxite ore. Below are a number of plastic recycling facts Recycling 1 ton of plastic can save over 7 cubic yards of landfill space. Over 80,000,000,000 aluminum soda cans are used every year. A used aluminum can is recycled and back on the grocery shelf as a new can, in as little as 60 days. The aluminum in a can is worth about 1 cent. The energy you save by recycling a single aluminum can will run a TV for three hours. Over 25 billion Styrofoam cups are thrown away in the United States each year. Below are a number of aluminum recycling facts. Over 1,600 businesses are involved in recycling post-consumer plastics. Americans use 2,500,000 plastic bottles every hour and most and not recycled. Approximately 350,000 aluminum cans are made in a minute Recycling plastic saves twice as much energy than incinerating it The #1 most important recycling fact: You can make a difference Only around 27% of plastic bottles are recycled. The final get-together included a game and talking about goals and overcoming obstacles in life. Thanks to everyone who made the commitment to spend time with these students. Pictured here are 4 of the mentors who attended the last meeting, and pictures of the students. (Ericka Martinez, Nancy Pratt, Kelli Sanders, Carrie Christian) Project Graduation is hosted by the schools Project Graduation is hosted by the schools, parents and community for graduating high school seniors. The celebration is a fun and exciting event for high school seniors, juniors and sophomores. The purpose of the event is to have an adult supervised and alcohol free post-graduation party. At Project Graduation, students will have many fun activities they can choose to participate in like volleyball tournaments, relays, card games and many more. Throughout the night they will earn tickets for participating which they put towards the raffle prizes. Every year Etech donates prizes to over eight different high schools’ Project Graduation throughout the East Texas area. The prizes this year included an iPad, Dr Dre Beats, TVs, gift baskets and tons of other great prizes. We even collaborated with another local vendor, Robert’s Vending, to produce over twenty different snack packs filled with drinks, snacks and gift cards. Project Graduation is just one of the many ways Etech gives back to our community. Experienced People. Innovative Technology. Our recognized and awarded employees enjoyed the red, white & blue theme in honor of celebrating Memorial Day too. Employees received colorful flip flops and balloons, and were treated to cake and punch followed by trivia games and awesome prizes, including a grill and gift certificate to Omaha steaks, and more. Thank you again to each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication to our team. Experienced People. Innovative Technology. The food was great but the sharing of memories past was the best part of the event. A Memorial Wall was created and it displayed veterans that were family members of our employees. Stories about the veteran’s time in the military or after were discussed regularly prior to the cookout and most assuredly during the event. Like our wall stated “Memorial Day … never forget ….ever honor.” Experienced People. Innovative Technology. Along with that, the Baroda team went an extra mile by celebrating the birthdays of all the employees that fall within the month by cutting a cake during the ceremony. Getting rewarded and applauded before the entire centre holds a special value for everyone and we ensure the appreciation and hype doesn’t just end with the ceremony. Congratulations to all the winners! CenturyLink Launch CenturyLink joined hands with Etech and the team launched this new project at our Baroda Center last month. The launch of CenturyLink was celebrated with tremendous zeal and enthusiasm. Team members had a splash while they enjoyed decorating the bay, cutting the ceremonial cake and cherishing the moments. Both the companies are looking forward to a successful association! Kudos to the wonderful team! Experienced People. Innovative Technology. Remarkable Results. 17 Founder's Day Celebration The Founder’s Day was celebrated with a special assembly of our team members in the Baroda Center with much zest and fervor to mark the contribution of the vintage heritage of Etech Baroda. Founders were honored for their unison with us for more than 5 years in continuation. Thank you to all those who have served us with great loyalty and have stayed with Etech during all these years! We owe our success to one and all of you! Days' Celebrations To keep the ambience lively and fun, last month the Gandhinagar Work Life Balance team organized an entire week of fun and frolic. Every day all the employees came in to action packed and competitive games on the floor in different themed based clothes. Hawaiian Day, Punk Day, Twins Day, Mismatch Day and Tees with Quote Day were some of the days that were celebrated during the week. A great participation from one and all and excellent prizes bagged by Etechians was just cherry on the cake! Experienced People. Innovative Technology. Remarkable Results. 18 Kudos VZ! The floor, like the summers of May, was hot with loads of contests and fun for Team Verizon. With new challenges and targets from the clients, the team sailed through with flying colors in, of course, a fun filled way. The targets were high and periodic hiccups did make things a little difficult but the team was highly motivated by various contests. With some or the other contest and activity planned throughout the month, the team eventually, as expected, did well and achieved the targets set by the client. Synchronization and harmony were the keywords for the month and performance was just a simple outcome! Congratulations!!! Let’s join our hands together to wish Suresh Kamvani from Medallia on becoming the proud father of a baby boy. He and his wife were blessed with the birth of their son this May. They have named him Mann, which means heart or the mind in English. The Etech Family wishes Mann and his proud parents lots of happy moments and heart felt congratulations for this great news in their lives! Experienced People. Innovative Technology. Last week, both the Gandhinagar and Baroda centers appreciated their leaders for doing a job well done, and some leaders who strongly displayed specific Etech Servant Leader Characteristics round the year were awarded with awards that not in the least, less-awaited than Grammys and Oscars! It was a moment of pride and honor and a lot of anxiety for everyone to know who wins which award. The following awards were distributed in an evening filled with cheers, music, appreciation and lots of applause!
