2015 TDS Auction Catalog 5
Contests, Games and Raffles
During the Silent Auction, we’ll award a prize to the bidder who bids the most times in a onehour period. We’ll have three winners during the course of the Silent Auction. After the Live and Silent Auctions end, we’ll have a bit more fun with our big raffles and games before we wrap up the evening. This year we’ve got three for you: 1) The Heads-or-Tails Game:
This is a game in which each participant chooses heads or tails, the Auctioneer flips a
coin, and participants are eliminated until only one is left standing. The winner receives
a $400 Gift Card to Best Buy. To play, buy one or more bracelets for $25 each.
2) The Diamond Raffle:
In this raffle, the winner receives these 14 karat white gold diamond inand-out hoops with a carat weight of 1.3 carats from Diamonds Direct
Crabtree worth $2,200! To play, you’ll buy one or more classic
children’s books for $50 each and when it is time to announce the
winner, the auctioneer will lead us on a treasure hunt through the pages
of your books. You do not need to be present to win the diamond
raffle (but it is a lot more fun if you are!)
3) The 50/50 Raffle:
In the 50/50 Raffle, the winner splits the cash pot with TDS. The size of the pot
depends on the number of tickets sold. You do not need to be present to win the
50/50. Each Ticket costs $50 or 3 for $100.

represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorships,
provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in this catalogue, or made orally at the auction or
elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability. The value listed is an
estimate of fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless so noted. The amount you pay above this
fair market value estimate is normally tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax
advisor to clarify amount of deduction. Restaurant certificates do not include alcohol, tax, or gratuities unless
specified. The purchaser must pick up all items the night of the auction, unless special arrangements are
made. Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to Triangle Day
School. Triangle Day School reserves the right to add and withdraw items, without notice, to or from the
auction. Unless otherwise specified, all auction certificates must be used within one year of the date of the

Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained of the auction.
Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from Triangle Day School, their
elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer, the auction company and its agents
and employees, the event organizer, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
Silent Auction Once again we are using MobiAuction, an app for Apple devices, written by Sam Taylor, TDS parent. The
information sheets on how to download the app have been provided via e-mail to bidders. Volunteers are also
on hand to give one-on-one instruction. If you have any issues with bidding or downloading MobiAuction,
please contact the Check-In table.
Live Auction Live auction items may be previewed in the designated live auction area from the time the doors open. Please
feel free to examine the items and note any restrictions, limitations, sizes, etc. To enter a bid, the bidder holds
up their Bid card so that the auctioneer or one of the spotters can see it. Use only the bid number assigned to
you. The auctioneer will determine who the successful bidder is. Please hold your card so that the number can
be seen easily. Successful bidders for the live auction must sign a receipt. At that time, they should verify that
the bid number, amount, and item description are correct. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the
auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer the item in
dispute. Value set forth for items being auctioned are donor’s estimates and are not warranted by the auction
for general value.

Enjoy this 750 ml bottle of Krupnikas (just not all at once!) You'll savor this new,
locally made spiced honey liqueur made in the Lithanian tradition. Made with whole
spices, NC honey, and grain neutral spirits, this is a remarkably smooth-sipping
liqueur. Made in small batches, each bottle is named and batch numbered. Your
bottle's name is "Von Jean." A stainless steel flask and two snifters complete the package. Our new friend Rim Vilgalys
has included his business card and would enjoy giving you a quick (free) tour of the facility if you'd like! The founders
of Brothers Vilgalys began making Krupnikas, a traditional Lithuanian spiced-honey liqueur, on their stove-top as a
treat for visiting friends and family. That all changed in 2012 when they went into business making the drink on a much
grander scale. At The Brothers Vilgalys Spirits Company, they craft a version of their original home-distilled spirit using
whole spices, pure grain alcohol, and North Carolina wildflower honey.
