Leaving Homelessness Behind
The Leaving Homelessness Behind (LHB) Program provides case
management and rental assistance. The program is designed to help
families bridge the gap between homelessness and stability. It will also
give families earlier access to the resources they need in order to grow
and develop the personal skills and abilities needed for long term
stability and self-sufficiency.
Family Self-Sufficiency
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program is designed to assist families
on rental assistance achieve self-sufficiency so they will no longer need
to rely on public assistance. Clients enter into an agreement with ICS
and develop an action plan that identifies the family’s goals. The
program improves the community by creating a culture of self-reliance
and financial independence. Our participants develop a sense of
autonomy by pursuing higher education, living wage employment,
and family stability.
Program Opportunities
Each year, the FSS and LHB coordinators provide a
number of opportunities to their clients outside of
the program requirements; life skills workshops,
retreats, and work skills groups. These
opportunities give clients the ability
to work on core issues that have
hindered their progress
towards self-sufficiency.
