Welcome to the 2016 St. Michael’s School Spring Gala: The Rodeo Roundup.
Tonight is about letting loose and having some good ole fashioned fun (and
maybe even Old Fashion or two). There won’t be any gun duels or horses in this
saloon, but there’s no objection to some hootin’ and hollarin’ and carryin’ on.
And, remember, we’re here for our 158 students enrolled next year at St.
Michael’s School. Our fun and your money is their benefit.

Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 4th annual St. Michael the Archangel School Gala! This year’s theme is
Rodeo Round-Up! We truly appreciate your support and dedication in allowing us to
provide an exceptional Catholic education to students across the Streator community.
Without friends such as yourselves, St. Michael the Archangel School would not be as
successful as we are today!
Did you know that, according to the U.S. Department of Education, Catholic School
eighth grade students have outperformed their public school peers in both reading and
math by an average of 20+ points for the past 22 years? That is amazing and something
to be proud of! Through your generosity and support at our previous Gala’s, we have
been able to contribute to the academic success of our students with the
implementation of an outstanding Robotics program as well as a new Math curriculum!
Tonight, we are asking you to help us remain true to our devotion to academic
excellence and the creation of lifelong learners! All money that is raised will directly
impact the students and teachers at St. Michael the Archangel School.
Again, I extend a sincere thank you to each and every one of you for your continued
generosity and support of St. Michael the Archangel School! Because of you, we are able
to provide a rigorous curriculum focused on instilling Catholic morals and values to
students from Preschool through eighth grade. Thank you for making our dreams come

Live Auction
We’re excited for you to be with us this evening. Remember, this is
the primary fund-raiser for St. Michael’s School. Just like in Illinois,
they say, “Vote early, vote often” – the same philosophy applies
tonight. Bid early, and bid often! But most of all have fun!
Auction Rules
1. A bid is a legal contract. An auction number must be obtained to make a live auction
bid. Bidders must be 21 years of age or older.
2. Payment for both live and silent auction packages must be made prior to your
departure this evening. Payment may be made in cash, check, Visa, MasterCard,
American Express, or Discover.
3. All sales are final. No refunds or adjustments will be made.
4. In the event of any dispute amongst bidders, the auctioneer reserves the right to
determine the successful bidder.
5. Auction packages are subject to the limitations set by the donor of the package and
we reserve the right to correct any printing errors in auctions description.
Tax Deductibility
The estimated retail value of each package will be provided for when you purchase the
package. All Amounts in excess of this value may be deducted for tax purposes as a
charitable contribution. Receipts are available.
Check-out Procedures
At the close of the evening (after the live auction), the cashier stations will be open in the
Kay-See Club dining room. All silent auction and live auction items purchased will be
available for pick up in the dining room at the cashier stations.
Saint Michael’s School and the steering committee of the Rodeo Roundup reserve the right
to remove, relocate, or edit any items or their descriptions found in this catalog.

Cash for a Cause
This year’s Cash for a Cause will assist two projects happening at St. Michael’s
School: technology in the classroom and the monitored building entrance system. The
auctioneer will call out funding levels of $1,000.00, $500.00, $250.00, $100.00, $50.00,
and $25.00. Each funding level matches a colored card with your bidding number on it
which you received upon entry. Simply raise your card for the level you wish to donate.
The amount will be reflected on your final receipt at the checkout station. If you prefer
to make a silent bid, please send your contribution to St. Michael’s School at 410 S. Park
Street, with your check made payable to St. Michael’s School – Cash for a Cause.
Technology in the Classroom
Each classroom at St. Michael’s has WiFi capability and a Smart Board,
enabling our teachers to use technology in the classroom to teach the
generations of tomorrow. However, in order to make the best use of the
technology in our classrooms and to enable our students to embrace
technology to their fullest potential, we’re asking for your help to
upgrade the computers used by our teachers. Currently, many teachers
use their own personal computers; others make do with a refurbished or
older computer.
Our need for teacher computers is 13. We’ve already collected $4,500
toward this technology upgrade, but we need your help to meet our goal.
$2,500 dollars more will purchase eight of the needed computers. Will
you help us with five remaining machines to help us teach your students
better?
Monitored Building Entrance
When you visit the school, you know of the video conferencing system
that calls the main office to be admitted to the building. This system has
been protecting our students and faculty for more than 10 years, and
continues to do so. But if you’ve ever picked up your children from After
Care, you know the stress of knocking on the door so that door can be
opened and you can retrieve your children. Have you ever felt like that
can be harder than your work day? With your help, the entire building
entry system will be upgraded putting a new callbox at the front door
entrance of the school building, and adding an additional new callbox at
the After Care door.
Upgrading the security system to install the new entry point for the After Care will cost
$7,000. The total need for these two projects is $13,500. We already have raised
$5,300 toward our goal, which makes our current need $8,200. Through your kindness
today, we can meet our goal and keep this vision alive.
