The Video - DreamHack Valencia
DreamHack Valencia
September 16-17th 2011 Valencia, Spain
The Venue
VELES E VENTS
Home and heart of the 32nd and 33rd America’s Cup, Veles
e Vents is an extraordinary building by british architect David
Chipperfield.
With its 10.000 m², and the 100.000 m² of the surrounding
park, it marks the transition between the modern and high
paced Valencia and the more quiet and traditional beach area.
Its placement offers a complete view over Valencia’s Juan
Carlos I Royal Marina and the Seafront Promenade and Beach
“Malva-rosa” and “El Cabanyal-Arenas”. During the Grand Prix
of Europe it offers its unique emplacement inside the Valencia
Formula 1 Street Circuit to the teams and spectators.
The Video
In a short 69 second video the Zerg will try to invade Valencia
starting their attack right at Veles e Vents while the Terran
forces deploy siege tanks and marine squads overlooked by
battlecruisers, banshees and vikings.
This short piece of art received more than 40.000 views in
the first weekend, achieving 100.000 visits in just one month.
Comments from all over the world praised the artistic quality
of the production as well as the thrill and hype it raised before
the event.
The video has been selected as one of the three winners of
Blizzcon 2011 Movie Contest.
