Thank you to the following sponsors for
their generous support of HCFF.
Welcome to the 2012
Hill Country Film Festival
April in the Texas Hill Country means warmer days, wildflowers and
of course, independent film!
On behalf of our festival team, I’d like to welcome you to
Fredericksburg’s very own Hill Country Film Festival (HCFF).
In sharing our love of Fredericksburg and independent film, our third
season is filled with fun events, exciting screenings and informative
panel discussions. So, when you’re not shopping Main Street or
touring a winery, all your entertainment needs are right here.
2012 has already been a memorable year for us. We formed our non-profit organization, the
Hill Country Film Society (HCFS) and joined the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce. Film
submissions and festival exposure have grown and we’re excited about incorporating year-round
events and programming, along with future HCFS-funded film productions and educational services.
This year also marks our first exploration into the wonderful world of 3D films. We’re proud to be the
first film festival in Texas to have a competitive 3D short film category.
None of this would be possible without our dedicated staff, generous sponsors, inspirational
filmmakers, Gene Oliver and the Stagecoach Theater.
Special thanks to Festival Director Amy Miskovsky and her Texas-based management and marketing
team, Natalie Burge Design for guiding our festival’s look and Programming Director Gary Weeks
and his programming team in Los Angeles. We would also like to thank and welcome our New Yorkbased 3D programming director, Dimitris Athos, to our family.
Finally, thank you to the City of Fredericksburg for their continued support and encouragement. It’s
our pleasure to bring the very best independent films to the city we love.
Enjoy the films and enjoy Fredericksburg. It’s the perfect combination.

6 Month Rule | USA | Romantic Comedy | 100 minutes
Directed by Blayne Weaver
6 Month Rule is a realistic, funny and, at times, heart-breaking look at dating, love and friendship told
from the point of view of Tyler, a perpetual bachelor. Tyler follows a set of rules specifically designed
to help him avoid emotional attachment. His most important rule is that he can get over anyone in
less than six months. Knowing that he will get over any woman allows him to dismiss relationships
without regret. When his best friend is dumped, Tyler takes him under his wing. At the same time,
Tyler meets a girl who changes everything he thinks he knows about relationships. With the influence
of his heart-sick best friend and the new woman in his life, Tyler finally tries to be a better man.
Along with Weaver, this film stars Martin Starr, Natalie Morales, Patrick J. Adams, John Michael
Higgins, Dave Foley and Jamie Pressly.
HCFF Notes: This film was produced and shot in Shreveport, Louisiana. As an actor, writer and
director, Weaver was featured in the 2010 HCFF documentary Official Rejection. Blayne Weaver will
be in attendance for Q&A following the screening.

This is definitely not your ordinary ice cream and bakery shop. Clear River,
located at 138 E. Main St. in Fredericksburg, does things just a little differently,
and you’ll be so glad they do.
In the morning, you’ll love stopping by to pick up a delicious hot-from-the-oven
baked goody and a cup of coffee from its extensive coffee bar. For lunch, you
can return for some homemade soups, sandwiches (made with fresh baked
bread) and maybe a little something sweet for dessert, like a lemon square,
pecan pie bar, cheesecake slice or brownie. Then in the afternoon, you can
return once again for homemade ice cream — more than 75 flavors, with 30
available each day. And don’t be surprised if Elvis or another fun character
serves you. Yes, Clear River does things differently, but sometimes different
is good!
Be sure to check out some of Clear River’s specialties, including: Award
