The Basics
Deposits & Payments
It is resort policy to collect a deposit along with a signed Letter of Agreement at the time of confirming your event.
Ninety days prior to your event, 80% of your estimated remaining balance is due. Seven days prior to your event, final
payment is due. Events will not start until final payment is received. Alternate arrangements can be arranged through
your Sales Manager at the time of confirming your event. All groups must have a credit card on file
for any additional charges incurred during the event. No personal checks will be accepted.
Pricing, Service Charge, & State Sales Tax
All food and beverage prices will be confirmed three months prior to your arrival date. All food, beverage, audiovisual, and meeting rooms are subject to a 20% service charge and 6% Michigan sales tax.
Private group activities are subject to a 20% service charge.
Group Block/Group Rates
Group Blocks and Group Rates are available for groups with 10 or more lodging reservations.

Room Rental Inclusions
Included in the cost of room rental are tables, chairs, standard white linens (tablecloths and napkins), place settings,
custom set up of tables/chairs, and all post event clean up. Colored linens and napkins are available, but upcharge
fees may apply. Flowers, decorations, place cards, specialty linens, and other items may be brought into the Resort.
However, the responsibility for delivery and timely removal of these items is that of the contract signer, not of the
Resort. All items must be removed from the premises at the end of the event unless other arrangements have been
made with your Sales Manager. The use of nails, pins, staples, and tape adhesives are not permitted. Should you
need to place flipchart sheets or other signage on the walls, please contact your Sales Manager for a list of approved
materials and alternative options. The Resort will not assume responsibility for the damage or loss of any décor
items or merchandise left in the Resort before or after your function, i.e. gifts, card box, décor, etc.
Additional fees may apply for excessive clean up.
Menus
Our menu consists of selections that accentuate our banquet chef’s culinary expertise. However, we are happy to
custom design your menu to suit your special needs or requests. Special dietary options are available with advance
notice. The food prepared is to be consumed at the Event and may not be removed from the Event. All food must be
purchased through our in-house food service with the exception of wedding cakes and other
specialty items that must be pre-approved. A plating fee may apply.
Guaranteed Counts & Minimums
Food and beverage minimums may apply for select function space depending on your event date(s). Detailed
information must be submitted to your Sales Manager for food and beverage selections, along with room set-up
requirements, at least two weeks before the event. A final count of guests is required at least one week prior to the
event. If we receive no other confirmed information, we will consider the number used for the Letter of Agreement
and Event Order to be the final count. The actual amount billed will be for the actual number served or the final
count which was provided, whichever is greater. Once the final count is received, the number of attendees may not
be reduced. Guest counts include vendors, band members, etc. A person over the age of 11 years old is considered an
adult and will be charged as such. Younger than 12 years old is a child and may order from our children’s selections.
For meals served on plates (as opposed to buffet meals), each guest must have their own place
card if there is a choice of entrées indicating which entrée was selected.
Banquet Bar Service
Michigan law requires that all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages served on the Resort property must be
purchased from the Double JJ Resort. The Double JJ Resort offers two bar beverage service options.
Sponsored Bar: All drink charges accumulate on one bill for payment by the person or group hosting the function.
Charges can be based on a selected bar package price or a per person/per hour open bar.
Cash Bar: Each guest pays for their own drinks as they are served. All cash bars in meeting rooms will be charged a
set up fee. We provide one bartender per 125 guests. Additional bartenders are available for an additional set up fee.
If you request to have a full service bar outside at the Steak Site or Family BBQ Site,
there will be a set up fee for the outdoor bar.

Menu Tastings
Complimentary menu tastings are available after an initial deposit and signed agreement is submitted for wedding
receptions expecting 100 guests or more. Contact your Sales Manager to coordinate the tasting. Your tasting will also
serve as a planning session with our Banquet Captain. This is the perfect opportunity to ask detailed
questions and make key decisions about your wedding.
The following guidelines will help you in preparation for the tasting:
•Soft drinks and ice water are included in the menu
tasting, other beverages are available at an additional
charge and will be applied to your master invoice.
•We must have at least two weeks notice to prepare
for your tasting.
•You may choose two entrée options. One of each
entrée will be prepared for those attending the
tasting to sample.
•Appetizers are not available for menu tastings.
•Additional entrees can be ordered for an additional
$18.00/per entree plus service fee and sales tax. This
charge will be applied to your master invoice.
•Our chef will prepare recommended sides according to
your selected entrées.

Wedding Carriage
Arrive (or depart) in style with our horsedrawn wedding carriage. Seats up to 4 people.
Choose to have a bottle of champagne waiting in the carriage for an additional fee.
Pricing does not include service fee and sales tax.
Bridal Party Wagon
Provide a stylish arrival (or departure) for your bridal party in our horsedrawn people mover.
Seats up to 20 people. Two hour minimum. Optionally, add on a bottle of champagne en route.
Pricing does not include service fee and sales tax.
Vendors
We can assist in providing you with references for a variety of professional services such as disc jockey, decorations,
photographer, floral arrangements, and others. Through our past experience we have developed a list of preferred
vendors that can help make your selection process less time consuming. See page 18 for our list of preferred vendors.
While we do have our favorites, we welcome any new vendors that you would like to bring with you from home.
Some vendor fees may apply.
Additional Charges
• All food and beverage prices are subject to a 20% service fee and the current Michigan state sales tax in accordance
with Michigan State Tax Board regulations. All prices are subject to change, however food and
beverage prices will be confirmed three months prior to arrival date.
• A cleaning fee may be accessed for excessive use of glitter, confetti, rice, sequins, and similar material.
• For all outside functions, once a weather decision has been made, there is a charge to move the event.
Conference Facilities
Frontier
Located on the northern edge of our property, the Frontier is the home of two buildings
that have space for meetings, group functions, and family gatherings.
The Sundance Building: The Sundance Building is breathtaking with its tall timbers and two story windows
overlooking Carpenter Lake and the Thoroughbred Golf Course. There are four conference rooms to suit your needs. The
lower level consists of the Maverick Room and the Wyatt Room, which can be connected for a larger meeting space.
The upstairs Mustang Room is perfect for board meetings of up to 20 people. The Sundance Balcony
overlooks the restaurant and is available for informal gatherings and semi-private dining.
The Gold Rush Waterpark Building: The Gold Rush Waterpark Building is part of our newest addition with three
meeting rooms located on the upper level above the indoor waterpark: the Wild West Room which overlooks the
waterpark, the Posse Room which overlooks the Thoroughbred Suites, and the
Pecos Pete Room, the largest of the meeting spaces in this building.

The Back Forty
Located on the southern edge of our property, this facility offers your group a unique experience. Surrounded by an
Old West Town, this meeting space offers groups the perfect retreat. The Jesse James Room holds up to 80 people and
is adjacent to the Dancehall. The Dancehall is also available at select times and dates for meetings, group functions,
and family gatherings. It can hold up to 300 people in its casual western setting.
Original Ranch
For over 75 years, the Ranch has provided guests a touch of the Old West. Located between the Back Forty and The
Frontier, this section is where the Resort got its start. Currently the Original Ranch has been converted into Wicked
Ranch haunted attractions which open in fall and for special events only.
Outdoor Settings
There are numerous settings located throughout the Double JJ Resort for large corporate picnics, rodeos, festivals,
weddings, and day use programming. Our two most popular outdoor wedding ceremony locations are the Maverick
Lawn & Corporate Corral.
Maverick Lawn : The Maverick Lawn is located behind the Sundance Steakhouse, just outside the Wyatt and
Maverick meeting rooms. The Lawn overlooks Carpenter Lake and the Thoroughbred Golf Course.
Corporate Corral: Corporate Corral is located next to the Pro Shop, overlooking the Thoroughbred Golf Course.
Backdrop of a large wagon wheel window provides a picture perfect setting.
Tent Locations: Tent locations are available for tented events throughout the Resort. Please ask your Sales Manager
for more information on tent policies.
The following locations are ideal for events that include outdoor dining:
Steak Site: The Steak Site is located on beautiful Carpenter Lake at the JJ Frontier, and can be accessed via horseback
or haywagon. It accommodates up to 125 people.
Family Barbecue Site: The Family Barbecue Site is located in the Back Forty, and is an easy five-minute walk from
Town Square. It accommodates up to 175 people.
Outdoor Function Rain Plan
To determine if your event should be moved inside based on weather, your Sales Manager and you will decide at least
eight hours in advance of the function. Outdoor wedding ceremony decisions will be at the Bride and Groom’s discretion.
In the event the ceremony will be moved indoors, your Sales Manager
should be informed 24 hours prior to ceremony start time.

What complimentary items do you offer?
Complimentary champagne toast, guest room for Bride and Groom on their wedding night, white table linens and
napkins, professional catering captain to attend to all your catering needs, and professional wedding specialist to
coordinate the event from rehearsal dinner to your farewell brunch. Some restrictions apply.
What room do we get as a complimentary room on our wedding night?
You will receive a Lofts Hotel room at no charge, but may choose to upgrade to a Thoroughbred Suite
or Family Cabin. Some restrictions apply.
How much do I need to put down as a deposit to lock in my wedding date and location?

How do my guests book their rooms if they want to stay for the weekend?
We can arrange for group rates, but the room block is based on availability. Once your event is secured, your guests
may call our reservations department to book the room of their choice. Be sure to have them ask for

Do you have a location to hold our ceremony as well as our reception?
Absolutely! We have several locations that allow for a magnificent view of our golf course, Carpenter Lake,
and much more. These locations do sell out quickly, so if you are interested in having your
ceremony, lock in your date as soon as possible.
Can we have a tent wedding?
Yes, we have several locations for tents.
Is there a minimum amount required to spend on food & beverage?
Based on your expected number of guests, function space, and/or event date, a food and beverage
minimum may require that you meet or surpass a minimum. The food and beverage minimum
excludes function space rental, taxes, service charges, and audio visual equipment.
Can we customize our menu?
Your Sales Manager and our Executive Chef would be happy to prepare
a menu designed specifically to suit your tastes.
Can I bring in a candy table as the favors for my guests?
We do allow candy tables to be brought in to serve as your wedding favors. Double JJ Resort will supply the tables and
linens, but you are responsible for all of the candy and their containers. The client is also
responsible for all set-up and teardown of the candy table.

Do you offer rehearsal dinners anywhere?
Yes, we do offer rehearsal dinners. This is a bonus with having your wedding at Double JJ Resort, as we can cover all of
your wedding events and needs all in one location, which makes it easier on not only you, but your guests as well.
Can you provide a horse and carriage for us?
Yes, we have a beautiful white carriage so you can arrive in style. We
also have a horse drawn wagon which you can use for your bridal party.
Can we bring in our own caterer and liquor?
Due to our state Food and Beverage licensing, we cannot allow any outside food and beverages into our facilities.
You can however, bring in your own wedding cake as long as it was made in a licensed kitchen.
When do you need our final head count for the meal?
We like to have the final count at least 1-2 weeks in advance of your event date.
We will need an estimated number about 90 days prior to the event.
What do you provide for linens?
We provide complimentary white linens for the tables and white napkins. Should you choose to use
colored linens, we would be glad to get them ordered (additional charge) and set up for you.
Can we provide our guests with beer and wine, as well as a cash bar for mixed drinks?
Yes, you can. We are able to provide any alcohol selections you would like to offer your guests. There is no need for
separate bars, as we can serve all of these options from the same bar. Please see our Bar Options on page 15.
