BARNES was founded by Heidi Barnes and Thibault de Saint Vincent. Its origins date back to 1994 when Heidi Barnes set up a
real estate company in London dedicated to assisting international
clients wishing to relocate to London. The company’s success led
Heidi Barnes to open a new office in Paris in 1995, and BARNES
became a leader in the business in just a few years’ time.
After working for over 15 years at the head of residential real estate
companies in France and the United States, Thibault de Saint Vincent realised in early 2000 that the luxury real estate market was
going global.
In 2004, BARNES was launched, combining Heidi Barnes’ AngloAmerican style of service and Thibault de Saint Vincent’s entrepreneurial spirit. After setting up in London and Miami, BARNES opened
new international offices in Paris, Geneva and New York.
In December 2012, BARNES opened in St. Barts. The agency is
located in the heart of Gustavia (Cour Vendôme - First floor) facing
the harbor.
BARNES a été fondé par Heidi Barnes et Thibault de Saint Vincent. Ses origines remontent à 1994, lorsqu’Heidi Barnes met en
place à Londres une société immobilière consacrée à aider les
clients internationaux désireux de s’installer à Londres. Son succès conduit Heidi Barnes à ouvrir un nouveau bureau à Paris en
1995. En seulement quelques années, BARNES est propulsé au
rang de leader en matière d’immobilier résidentiel haut de gamme.
Après avoir travaillé pendant plus de 15 ans à la tête de sociétés
immobilières résidentielles en France et aux États-Unis, Thibault
de Saint Vincent remarque, début 2000, que le marché de l’immobilier de luxe se mondialise.
En 2004, BARNES est définitivement lancé, combinant le style
anglo-américain d’Heidi Barnes à l’esprit d’entreprise de Thibault
de Saint Vincent. Après Londres et Miami, Barnes a ouvert plusieurs agences internationales à Paris, Genève et New York.
En décembre 2012, BARNES s’est implanté à St. Barth. L’agence
est située au cœur de Gustavia (Cour Vendôme - 1er étage) en

HOW TO GET TO ST. BARTS
COMMENT SE RENDRE À ST. BARTH ?
VISA INFORMATION / INFORMATIONS DE VISA
For all visitors, a valid passport is mandatory to enter St. Barts.
No visa is needed for citizens of the European Union, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Israel until you plan to stay for more than
30 days.
Other visitors must have a French visa that states COLLECTIVITE
DE SAINT BARTHELEMY ET SAINT MARTIN «valid for France except CTOM» or «DFA» (French Departments in the Americas). All
visas must be issued by the French Embassy before travel begins.
American and Canadian citizens arriving in St. Barts must also have
a round-trip ticket or proof of continuation of travel.
Your passport must be valid and not expire for at least three months
from the date of entry to the territory of St. Barts.
If you arrive by boat, you also need a visa if you are not a citizen of
the countries stated above.
Pour tous les visiteurs, il est nécessaire de disposer d’un passeport
en cours de validité afin de se rendre à St. Barth.
Les habitants de l’Union Européenne, des Etats-Unis, du Canada,
du Brésil ou d’Israël n’ont pas besoin de visa à moins de rester plus

Toutes les autres nationalités doivent se munir d’un visa Français
« valable pour la France sauf CTOM » ou « DFA » (Départements

Les Américains et Canadiens doivent obligatoirement posséder un
billet de retour et de continuation de voyage pour rentrer sur l’île.

To get to St. Barts by plane, you need to take a flight to the neighboring island Saint Martin, where all international flights land. From
there, two companies, St. Barth Commuter and Winair, offer multiple daily 10-minute flights to St. Barts.
Pour aller à St. Barth en avion, il faut prendre un vol en direction
de l’île voisine, Saint Martin, où atterrissent tous les vols internationaux, puis prendre un autre vol d’environ 10 minutes vers St. Barth.

To get to St. Barts by boat, you need to take a ferry from the neighboring island St. Martin, which takes between 45 minutes and
1hr. 15 min. Two companies offer these services, ‘Voyager’ and

What is the best neighborhood and the nicest beach?
There are no ‘bad areas’ in St. Barts. All beaches are different from
each other and have their own particularities.
Is renting a car necessary?
Yes, we recommend it. Although the island is small, walking can sometimes be complicated and there is no public transportation. From
one side of the island to the other only takes about 25 minutes by car.
Is there any time difference?
In the winter, New York is 1 hour behind and Paris 5 hours ahead.
What kind of plugs are there in St. Barts?
The island has French plugs (220V). For all foreign visitors, our villas
are equipped with at least one universal adaptor.

L’Euro est la monnaie officielle, mais tous les restaurants et boutiques acceptent les paiements en Dollars US.
Quel est le meilleur quartier et la plus belle plage ?
Il n’y a pas de « mauvais quartiers » à St. Barth. Toutes les plages
sont différentes les unes des autres et ont chacune leur charme.
Est-il conseillé de louer une voiture ?
Oui, nous le conseillons, car même si l’île est petite les déplacements à pied sont compliqués et il n’y a pas de transport en commun. Le tour de l’île ne prend que 25 minutes en voiture.
Y a-t-il un décalage horaire
En hiver il y a 1 heure de décalage avec New York et 5 heures avec Paris.
Quel type de prise électrique
Sur l’île c’est du 220v comme en métropole. Pour les touristes américains, toutes nos villas disposent d’au moins un adaptateur.
