Product Overview
SHIMPO has invested heavily in developing higher
precision gear reducers to meet the evolving needs of
our global customer base. This effort has led to the
development of our ABLE product line, a complete
offering of planetary speed reducers specific for servomotor applications.
Our production capacity and relationship with our sister
company, NIDEC-MOTOR, gives SHIMPO the ability to
design and manufacture custom gear sets or integrated
gearmotor assemblies. For any potential mid to high
volume gear application, our OEM customers can leverage our manufacturing expertise to bring to market the
most cost effective design.

Kit Assembly Center
NIDEC-SHIMPO AMERICA launched a kit build program at their
Itasca, IL facility to serve the North American market. The Kit
Build Center can assemble many of our planetary and cycloidal
series reducers in most major ratios within a 2 to 4 day period.
The Kit Build Center tests every assembled reducer to make
sure that all performance specifications are met. The battery of
tests includes load testing, noise measurement, and backlash
measurement, the same tests run by our manufacturing facility.
The new Kit Build Center provides an excellent, quick, turnaround solution for Distributors and OEMs.
