He made his ACT debut last June as Miles Gloriosus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Joel has appeared in Oklahoma (Ali Hakim), A Mid Summer’s Night Dream (Bottom), You Can’t Take It With You (Tony) and Damn Yankees (Smokey). He is serving his first year on ACT’s Board of Directors as Building Chair. Joel’s hobbies include playing board games and watching Hulu Plus. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Anne, and their dogs, Max and Molly. He is a CPA with McGladrey, LLP. Stacie Bendixen (Brenda Lawson) made her ACT debut just a few short weeks ago as Marla in Adam’s Eve. She performed in the ensemble of Urbandale Community Theatre’s The Music Man last summer. Stacie sings in the Drake University/ Community Chorus, is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota (a women’s music fraternity), and is involved with New Leaders Council Des Moines. Stacie also volunteers with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. She enjoys reading, catching up on favorite shows, correcting English usage, and imagining everyday life is a Broadway musical. Stacie works in corporate communications at Wells Fargo. Alexis Beyer (Tiffany Trevor) began her acting career in 7th grade and was in a school play every year until she graduated in 2005. After a hiatus, she came back to theater last spring in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing at the Des Moines Playhouse and then worked backstage this fall for Tallgrass Theatre’s The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. She made her ACT debut in February as Eve in Adam’s Eve. Alexis enjoys makeup artistry, reading, cooking, collecting foreign coins, binging on Pinterest and Netflix and, of course, acting. She has a wonderful husband, Bryan, who supports her passion for acting. Alexis is employed at Athletico Physical Therapy as an office coordinator. Mike Kentopp (Arthur Jarvis) was seen earlier this season on ACT’s stage in Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas and The Little Princess. Previous ACT shows include Arsenic and Old Lace, Our Town, Murder Takes the Stage, Once Upon Standing a Mattress, I Remember Mama and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. He has also had many roles in various area theaters. Mike is a father of four and has six grandchildren. He is a school bus driver for the Ankeny School District. Frances Paterik (Lydia Lawson) is a familiar face on many area stages. ACT credits include Company (Joanne), Meshuggah-Nuns (Rev. Mother) and Clue the Musical (Mrs. Peacock). Other productions include Into the Woods (Rapunzel), Me and My Girl (Jacquie), and Mystery of Edwin Drood (Drood) at the Des Moines Playhouse, How the Other Half Loves (Teresa), Rumors (Chris), and Steel Magnolias (Ouiser) at the Ingersoll Dinner Theater, and Mail (Sandy), Expiring Minds (Diva), and Cowgirls (Jo) at Drama Workshop. In her free time, Frances enjoys gardening. She is a retired public school music teacher and Director of Faith Lutheran Church, Clive, messiah choir and annual children’s musical director. Shawn Pavlik (Stanley Lawson) made his ACT debut last summer as Hysterium in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. He has appeared in over thirty shows in numerous venues and has directed four shows. His favorite roles include Hysterium, Javert in Newton Community Theatre’s production of Les Miserables and Pseudolus in Marshalltown’s production of Forum. Shawn is a math teacher at Saydel High School. Shawn and wife Laura have two sons, Gabriel (also seen in Forum) and Zachary. Lauren Stratton (Roxy Howard) was last seen on ACT’s stage as Sarah in The Big Five-Oh! She enjoys reading, singing at church, and watching Doctor Who. Lauren works at Sunny View Care Center in the Activity Department. Next fall, she will be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Gerontology at ISU. Nicole Titus (Cecily Monroe) made her ACT debut just a few short months ago in Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas followed by Adam’s Eve.
