Honorary Chairpersons
LeRoy & Marjorie Minatre
The 15th Annual Orange & Black Ball is
dedicated to this year’s honorary
chairpersons, LeRoy and Marjorie Minatre.
LeRoy was born in Woodland, California, in
1934 and moved with his family to Stockton
in 1942. Growing up in East Stockton,
LeRoy sold seeds and eggs as well as garden
supplies once he was old enough to push a
cart. LeRoy was hired by Arlee Scott of
Scott Brothers Signs while attending
Stockton High School and later worked fulltime serving a five-year apprenticeship after graduation. Arlee Scott took
LeRoy to his first Tiger Football game and he has been hooked on Pacific
sporting events ever since as he hasn’t missed many home games over
the past 45 years.
After 15 years in the sign industry, LeRoy started his own company, MinaTree Signs Inc., in 1967. LeRoy went on to become a founding member of the
PAF in 1970, and he and his company have been key partners and donors
ever since. For example, Mina-Tree Signs did all of the signage and donor
recognition plaques in the Alex G. Spanos Center when it opened in 1981.
More recently, they designed and built the Leadership Plaza and wayfinding
signs at Klein Family Field for baseball, as well as installed new scoreboards at
Bill Simoni Field for softball and Knoles Field for soccer.
A longtime member of the PAF Board of Directors, LeRoy has enjoyed serving
on committees and was instrumental in the development of the Orange and
Black Ball. LeRoy and Marjorie were married in 1996 and, together, they have
helped to organize many events, including an annual barbeque for the Men’s
Basketball Team. To indulge his passion for sports, LeRoy purchased the
Altamont Raceway in 1994 and owned it for 10 years. Marjorie and LeRoy
would often hire Pacific student-athletes to work at the Raceway.
Between their blended families, LeRoy and Marjorie are the proud
parents of four adult children and they have 11 grandchildren (three of
whom are active members of the military) and 11 great-grandchildren.

PAF Impact Fund
Pacific Athletics is required to meet a Base Scholarship Obligation to the
University ($250,000). If this goal is met, all additional funds raised will be
used to support Pacific student-athletes and help elevate the competitiveness of Pacific Athletics as a member of the West Coast Conference.
How will my PAF donation be used this year? This is the question most
donors will ask. The answer to that question is this – last year the PAF
successfully raised $375,000, meaning $125,000 was above and beyond
the Base Scholarship Obligation. Combined with designated Marketing &
Ticket Revenue, the PAF Impact Fund now totals $175,000 for this year.

Silent Auction Rules
1. The Silent Auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7:15 p.m.
2. The items in the Silent Auction have bid sheets on clipboards in front
of the item or display. Persons who wish to bid must do so by legibly
printing their name and the amount of the bid. Please increase
previous bid by at least $10.00.
3. In the event that the bidding is still in progress when the Auctioneer
officially closes the table, a staff member will conduct a live auction
on the spot allowing those persons to continue to bid until a winner is
determined. All decisions are final.
4. After the Silent Auction, a redemption certificate will be hand
delivered to each top bidder at their designated dinner table. The
receipt will indicate the item you have purchased and the amount of
your winning bid. Items may be picked up and paid for at the
conclusion of the Live Auction or a staff member will be happy to
process a payment envelope for you, while you simply enjoy the rest
of the evening.
5. After completion of the Live Auction, all winning bidders should report
to the cashier’s table located in the foyer of Janssen-Lagorio. This is
where you will provide payment and claim your items.
6. Auction services without specific dates are to be arranged at the
mutual convenience of the donor and buyer. Hotel accommodations
are always “subject to availability.”
7. Auction items must be paid in full before the end of the evening.
Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard and American Express will be accepted.
8. All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds on auction items are
permitted. Bidder may not return items to the merchants or
benefactors for a refund or exchange. Everything is purchased “as is.”
Please read specifications and limitations carefully. Expiration dates
may not be the same for all items in a “package.” Unless otherwise
specified, all auction items and services must be used by August 1,
2015.
