I got into playing the guitar when a friend in high school showed me some guitar chords and a couple of ‘licks’ (scales). I liked it and started teaching myself. My mother had a piano in the house and I would just play things and figure out what sounded good! When playing an instrument, it’s like making a piece of musical treasure that no one can ever take from you, and totally belongs to you. I especially enjoy it when others enjoy the music, although I wish that I had taken piano lessons when I was young so I could be good and not just fake it!” By: Olivia Truelove Sarah White–11th grade “I play the clarinet. I started playing when I was in the 6th grade, so ever since I was 11. I started playing because I was in band class. I originally wanted to play the flute, but I picked the clarinet instead because I thought it fit me best. When I play the clarinet I feel like I can feel what the music is trying to say to me. I feel like it flows through me and I feel happy!” Ants never sleep. Gum contains rubber. A shrimp`s heart is in its head. Dolphins sleep with one eye open. There are 31,557,600 seconds in a year. 45 million Turkeys are sold on Thanksgiving. Pedro: What did the turkey say to the turkey hunter? George: What? Pedro: “Quack! Quack!” Q: Why did the turkey play the drums in his band? A: Because he already had drum sticks! The first Thanksgiving celebration lasted three days. You can’t say the letter “p” without separating your lips. When you sneeze all your body functions stop, even your heart. Pep Rally Spirit Artist of the Month Amanda Flores’s Two Point Perspective Hometown Heroes “Rosie Cavazos for always striving to encourage the teachers and students to be the best they can be.” Anonymous “Mrs. Bell—she goes above and beyond to make sure our students are safe and successful. She’s never on idle, and will give up her me to help others. Thanks!” Kindergarten Ever notice someone at school doing something extra helpful or friendly that you would like to recognize? If so, please submit your notices of thanks to Mrs. Underwood. “Phillip Hooper for always opening doors as people enter and exit the school. He is always there to lend a helping hand. Thank you!” Anonymous “I would like to recognize Marshall in my classroom. He supports the kids when they are down. When they make mistakes, he is always there to pat them on the back and say that it is okay.” Mrs. Turner “My hometown hero is Danna Dawson and her family. They help the sweet elderly lady across the street clean her house and her yard. They have been a blessing to our community.” Anonymous Pre K Mia Belz Kinder Kimberlee Esquivel 1st Rebecca Gonzales 2nd Sianna Serrata 3rd Caina Sneed 4th Kyndall Rohan 5th Rylie Smith 6th Brett Acker Marissa Blanco Gabrel Garza Emily Measels Jaidyn Naylor Sianna Serrata Marshall Swaim Mollee Couch Traeger Hamilton William Melendez Karson Seidel Shelby Slavinski Madison West Shorn Dillard Byron Huerta Malachi Mixon Brayden Serrata Delaney Smith Third Fourth Brenda Beyer Rhea Garza Kaylee Robbins Barrett Swaim Baily Dawson Cotton Harris Peyton Rohan Caroline Truelove Harrison Drought Joshua Reyna Rylie Smith Cayden Turner Fifth PreKinder Kinder Ariana Coolidge Hunter Hasette Tate Turner Oscar Garza Luke Ridgeway O’Brien Underwood Rebecca Gonzales Justyn Thornton Piper Wood Lisa Chatman Dustin Goodrum Sydnea Ray Jaycee Wheat Joshua Fohn Kaylie Measels Emery Robles Kelsey Gonzales Julianne Ramon Landon Thornton Brett Acker Gabriel Cordova Colton McCartney Tannah Walker Blake Zielonka Dustin Allen Skeeter Garza Kaitlyn Poth Kiley Wilson Erin Atkinson Alexis Lopez Devin Robbins Kaylin Workman Sixth Cowboy Character: Rebekah Adams Madalyn Little Miranda Martinez Mason Taylor James Contreras Matthew Little Laussen McClaugherty Kimberlee Esquivel Nathan Little Nicholas Melendez First PK Mia Belz Gael Jasso Mercedes Blanco Jasey Naylor Nolan Crosson Madison Robbins Avery Dillard Gary Robbins Ryleigh Fetterman Jacob Sosa Kyra Garza Cason Stacy Levi Garza Walker Swaim Payton Gonzales Ava Verastegui Kensley Green Bailey Wise Kinder Rebekah Adams Nathan Little James Contreras Miranda Martinez Alyxis Delgado Harley McBee Kimberlee Esquivel Justice McBee Hailey Groen Laussen McClaugherty Travis Lehman Nicholas Melendez Madalyn Little Kyndell Seidel Matthew Little Mason Taylor First Jody Belz Kaiyden Inman Madilynn Bjorgaard Luke Ridgeway Ariana Coolidge Cassidy Slavinski Dakota Franklin Richard Smith Jonathan Franklin Justyn Thornton Oscar Garza Tate Turner Rebecca Gonzales O’Brien Underwood Keagan Green Joseph Villareal Hunter Hasette Piper Wood Makayleigh Bjorgaard Brandon Goins Rudy Mesa Emmalyn Truelove Cayden Diaz Russell Goodrum Allison Rowe Brannan Woelfel Bailey Garcia Aaron Lewis Caina Sneed Carsyn Woodin Perfect Attendance: Aim for Excellence: Second By Phillip Hooper Mia Belz Kyra Garza Jasey Naylor Jacob Sosa Bailey Wise Mercedes Blanco Payton Gonzales Gary Robbins Walker Swaim Nolan Crosson Taiytus Inman Madison Robbins Ava Verastegui Perfect Attendance Continued 7th Tyler Allen, Ashleigh Cloud, Kayla May, Elijah Reyna, Makinna Serrata, Tiffani Thornton, Katherine Truelove & Myranda Zielonka 8th Hannah Arisola, Lily Arredondo, Mirza Bazan, Brett Beyer, Mia Bowser, Calyssa Garza, Covy Harper, Blaye Lee, Joe Melendez, Hilario Ramon, Valentina Valadez & Lauren Workman 9th Calli Cruz, Carly Fohn, Mykayla Garza, Tyler Gunter, Heather Haines, Cassidy Howard, Jordan Stephenson, Olivia Truelove & Taryn Walker 10th Raeann Alexander, Chris Chatman, Mahala Harper, Trey Kuenstler, Juan Lopez, Hailey Ruiz, Austin Serrata, Donnie Soward, Lindy Swaim, Jordan Voldan, Chase Watt & Fisher White 11th Joaquin Cavazos, Danielle Dawson, Kaitlyn Fohn, Raney Hanks, Kye Maddox, Trenton Ruhmann, Macy Ruiz & Sarah White 12th Nolan Barnes, Kyle Engelking & Ashely Lewis Cowboy Pride: nd Pre-K 2 Gael Jasso William Melendez Mia Belz Marissa Blanco K 3rd Laussen McClaugherty Rudy Mesa Kimberlee Esquivel Caina Sneed 1st 4th Jody Belz Joshua Fohn Piper Wood Emery Robles th 5 Peyton Rohan 6th Brett Acker Evelyn Garza All A Honor Roll 2nd: Shorn Dillard, Taber Garcia, Ryleigh Kuehlem, Kole Latham, Emily Measels, William Melendez, Malachi Mixon, Jaidyn Naylor, Sianna Serrata, Shelby Slavinski & Delaney Smith 3rd: Troy Allen, Charity Harris, Rudy Mesa, Allison Rowe, Caina Sneed, Brannan Woelfel & Brooke Wood 4th: Kelsey Gonzales, Kaylie Measels, Sydnea Ray & Kyndall Rohan 5th: Brenda Beyer, Garrett Blaha, Baily Dawson, Rodrigo Garcia, Cotton Harris, Joshua Reyna, Peyton Rohan, Rylie Smith & Cayden Turner 6th: Brett Acker, Erin Atkinson & Tannah Walker 7th: Tyler Allen, Marc Casas, Charlsie Harris, Makinna Serrata & Hallie Taylor 8th: Hannah Arisola, Lupe Cordova & Covy Harper 9th: Sarita Cavazos, Carly Fohn, Cassidy Howard, Jordan Stephenson & Olivia Truelove 11th: Clay Atkinson, Jimm Casas, Joaquin Cavazos, Heather Gillin, Chad May & Sarah White 12th: Cody Bond, Amanda Flores, Ashely Lewis, Jasmyn Smith & Joseph Stanley e h t n o d r Wo treet S By: Marianne Ramon and Vicky Hernandez What are you naturally good at doing?
