EDITOR’S VOICE RECENT PROJECTS AT PRASAD GROUP Exactly 40 years ago 'KHILONA' produced by Prasad Productions, was not only a super hit Silver jubilee film but also a critically acclaimed film for its polishness and poignancy. The winning streak continued film after film and it did not stop with films alone. Whatever enterprises were started by Prasad Productions or Infrastructures created by Prasad Group flourished and set standards. Nowadays every company worth its salt talks of a Written Mission Statement for its growth, direction and a Vision for the future. It is an accepted fact that an organization cannot succeed without this. Then without such a written vision, how we achieved this is a natural question every one tends to ask. Our founder, a great visionary, has defined this in his own unique way, through his favorite medium, the innumerable films he directed or produced. His unwritten Vision Statement that came through his films clearly for us to follow is "TO PROVIDE CLEAN AND WHOLESOME ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY". And he is not deviate from this self set norm throughout his life and career. It is an undeniable fact that the success of every infrastructure Prasad Group was achieved is by subconsciously following the basic principle enshrined in those few words, unwritten, unuttered, but embedded in every one of us in its own way. Perhaps this is the secret of his vision percolating down the pyramid to grass root levels. Like a sponge every one of us from top to bottom absorbed his principles. The power of the Man and the power of the Medium are well illustrated in his checkered life. That he is perhaps a good case subject for modern day Business Schools is, in my opinion, no exaggeration. S.SIVARAMAN, Editor NAGIREDDY - CHAKRAPANI NATIONAL FILM AWARD TO RAMESH PRASAD Mr.Ramesh Prasad was awarded the prestigious “Nagireddy & Chakrapani - Andhra Pradesh State National Award” for the year 2008 for his contribution to the growth of the Film industry. NATURE’S REMEDY - OLIVE OIL Used for cardiovascular diseases, high blood cholesterol, ear aches, constipation, stomach upset, dry skin and stretch marks Nutritionally, olive oil contains 120 calories and 14 grams of fat per tablespoon; however, the fat is mostly monounsaturated, which has a beneficial effect on blood cholesterol levels and is easily digested. In countries where olive oil plays an important role in diets, such as Greece, Italy and Spain, there is a low incidence of cardiovascular diseases. The mild vegetable mucilage in olive oil also protects the body's digestive tract. Ancient civilizations used olive oil, well to help heal wounds. Today olive oil is prized as a moisturizer and skin remedy. Therapeutic Effect: Taken internally, olive oil stimulates metabolism, promotes digestion and lubricates mucous membranes. It can also be applied externally to treat dry skin. To lower blood cholesterol levels: The monounsaturated fatty acids in olive oil help lower LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels without affecting HDL ("good") cholesterol or triglyceride levels. To lower your cholesterol, at least 15% of your daily calories should come from monounsaturated fatty acids. Whenever possible, use olive oil in place of butter or other vegetable oils in cooking, in preparing dressings for salads or vegetables and in making sandwiches. Reference : The Complete Guide to Natural Healing, IMP Inc. To prevent hair loss: Massage your scalp with olive oil every evening for eight days. Let the treatment work overnight: washout in the morning. To moisturize skin: Apply daily to dry spots or stretch marks. It is the Woman’s Day and the men go into hiding as they fear the charm that oozes out and the wallets running dry! A day the Woman, as a wife, mother, colleague, friend, sister demand a lot more attention, love and affection and memories that last forever……….. The Woman’s Day in Prasad was put together at a break neck speed with games and events that motivated the young and the old alike to participate. Newcomers Sindhu and Parvathy at EFX were the centre of attraction and as a practice, elaborate introductions were given by both with a little bit of prodding from the ‘old members’ in the crowd. ‘Mother and Child’ is a favorite theme for a lot of activities but here the mother was a child …… blowing balloons, bursting them, falling into a single file, playing and singing like never before and after. The most awaited refreshments, sponsored by Holy Smoke and the lovely cake with fresh cream from the Kitchens of Red Bamboo had all the women forget about their ‘ weighty ‘ problems and go for a big slice. I often wondered why all this frenzy stops beyond the 24 hours of the 8th of March, but later realized that if it wasn't for the Woman's DAY, the attention she gets is not focused. HURRAH for the Woman and for the Day in her name. Viva La Femme...
