Make A Joyful Noise

Welcome to the 29th annual Festival of Trees Gala!
The theme of this year’s Gala is “Make a Joyful Noise,”
which celebrates the joyous music we make at this
event — the laughter of friends and family, the clink of
toasting glasses, but most importantly, the little hearts at
Mary Bridge that keep beating thanks to the generosity
of many.
I’d like to make a joyful noise to thank our devoted
partners, donors, board members, volunteers and
employees. The continued success of Festival of Trees is
all because of you.
Gala is supporting an exceptional cause this year. All
proceeds will support the Mary Bridge Legacy Fund,
a fund built by Mary Bridge Brigade members to
permanently support the children of Mary Bridge. For
nearly 100 years, the Mary Bridge Brigade (formerly the
Tacoma Orthopedic Association) has been the biggest
donor and advocate for our children. The Mary Bridge
Legacy Fund honors that incredible history.
By raising your paddle to support the Mary Bridge
Legacy Fund, you will help ensure that no child is
turned away from the treatment they need. You’ll help
provide family-centered facilities, the most advanced
lifesaving equipment, and training for Mary Bridge staff.
You’ll help support community programs like BRIDGES:
A Center for Grieving Children and the Center for
Childhood Safety. Lastly, your generous gift tonight will
help provide specialized pediatric care for children today
and for years to come.
Tonight I ask you to make a joyful noise with your bid
card — raising it high and often for the children in your
life and in our community.
Make a Joyful Noise at Gala!

All proceeds from Festival of Trees 2015 support the children
and families who depend on Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital
for care and compassion when they need it the most.
For more than sixty years, Mary Bridge Children’s
Hospital has been saving the lives of children and
providing comfort to families. It is Southwest
Washington’s only pediatric hospital – and because of
you, it provides the highest quality of care for all
children, regardless of their families’ ability to pay.
The Festival of Trees is a cherished tradition. It is both a
celebration of the winter holidays and a tribute to the
generous individuals and families who understand that
the greatest gift is health, especially the well-being of our
community’s children.
Across the country, philanthropy has meant the
difference between a good hospital and a great one.
Thanks to all the donors who have made Mary Bridge
what it is today – and to all of you who will make Mary
Bridge what it will be tomorrow.

Raise Your Paddle — honor the legacy
of the Mary Bridge Brigade!
They have been carrying a legacy for almost 100 years.
Tonight, we’ll carry it for them.
What makes Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital so
special is written right in the hospital’s history.
In 1921, fifteen women who wanted to bring pediatric
care to the South Sound formed the Tacoma
Orthopedic Association. As early as the 1930s,
the group had its sights set on an ambitious goal: a
children’s hospital. Sixty years ago, thanks to the
tireless advocacy and fundraising by thousands of
Tacoma Orthopedic Association members, Mary
Bridge Children’s Hospital opened its doors to provide
lifesaving care to children.
Nearly a century later, the Mary Bridge Brigade
(formerly the Tacoma Orthopedic Association) is still
carrying that incredible legacy born by fifteen women
in 1921. The largest donor in the history of Mary
Bridge, the Mary Bridge Brigade has supported the
hospital in times of great need and continues helping
Mary Bridge achieve every one of its major milestones.
Tonight, our fund-a-need will honor the 60th
Anniversary of Mary Bridge and the dedicated work
of the Mary Bridge Brigade. Your contributions to this
historic fund will help all children receive the medical
care they need, regardless of ability to pay.
With your raised paddle, you’ll help carry the legacy of
thousands of women and generations of families who
have ensured that children receive the medical care
they need, right here in our own community.

Rustic ChicTime to Celebrate
Tablescape
It’s time to celebrate the re-imagined
beauty of nature with a rustic chic
tablescape that combines romance with practicality and to
enjoy a catered dinner with family and friends.
The juxtaposition between elegance and shabbiness that
defines rustic chic is captured in this forest setting with
singular style: warm neutral palette of woodsy browns and
greens balanced by sophisticated silver bling and hints
of moonlight blue, organic burlap tablecloth featuring
clock medallions topped with a lush faux-fur runner
sumptuously puddling on the floor, antique-white owl
bowls and stoneware resting on wood chargers, and mason
water jars placed by classic flutes.
The table’s transformation into a romantic secret retreat
continues with glamorous details inspired by the serenity
of nature. Overhead, tree branches—textured with
pinecones and dangling silver ornaments—flicker with
firefly lights. The reconstructed branches hover above the
stunning table centerpiece: faux-fur trees nestled on a
rhinestone-trimmed silver tray flanked by two galvanized
steel and wooden lanterns filled with silver ornaments and
potpourri, shimmering with firefly lights. And there’s more
timeless ambiance. A small forest of custom-designed and
handmade cone trees wraps around the table, glammed-up
ice skates lean against a rusty-shabby vintage 1940s sled,
and a bench—complemented by a cozy, moonlight-blue
woven afghan and burlap and knit pillows—invites
lingering. The peaceful setting is perfect for winter
solstice, Christmas Eve, and New Years’ Eve celebrations.
Change out a few details and you have the backdrop for a
year’s worth of romantic interludes.
As the clock details remind us, any time friends and
family dine together is an opportunity to feast. Let the
celebration begin.

Our Secret Garden
Enter through a pergola and discover a
beautiful ornamental tree in the middle
of a secret, carefully tended garden,
complete with garden structures and accessories.
Swathed in rich colors of crimson, teal, and pewter, the
evergreen dramatically stands out, yet seems perfectly in
place in the midst of an inviting garden vignette. Admire
the view of beautiful plants from a park bench while
reading your favorite book. Enjoy lunch on a bistro set
and, as the sun sets, sip a glass of wine while you get warm
by a fireplace pit. In the background lanterns flicker and
glow. “Our Secret Garden” setting is so serene you might
never want to leave.

Elegant Noel
4-foot tree
Joyeux Noel. Enrich your home with
this classically beautiful tree. The rich
colors of the Christmas balls, an assortment of natural and
glittered ornaments, and traditional white lights give this
tree its elegant look. Invite additional elegance into your
life with multiple visits to the Tacoma Art Museum.
Elegance comes through immediately in the rich colors
of the ball ornaments—a classy compilation of silver,
gold, tiffany blue, and metallic brown. Differing sizes of
balls add a sophisticated layering of depth. Though the
tree is definitely elegant, the infusion of natural elements
prevents it from becoming fussy. Natural and sparkly
pinecones, icicles, and foliage dipped in gold and silver
complement the balls. Instant sophistication is added
with the tree topper: a lovely gold flower with the petal
tips glittered with gold beads. Traditional white lights
delicately highlight all the details on this frosted tree.
Ring in 2016 with:
• 1-year Friends and Family membership to the Tacoma
Art Museum
• 2 Pivotal Living fitness trackers to mark your steps and
monitor your sleep so you can look as elegant as you feel

ELVES... Every Little Life is
Very Extraordinarily Sacred
We’re counting down to Christmas, and
we can hardly contain our excitement.
The ELVES are here to remind us that Every Little Life
is Very Extraordinarily Sacred. They have been working
overtime to decorate this playful tree and make toys. With
this package, children will be inspired to cozy up with a
book, play a video game, host a tea party, and enjoy the
magic of all their new elf friends.
This adorable snow-flocked tree is wrapped in red and
white with peppermints and swirls. Elves are busy
decorating–climbing up a candy cane topper, hanging
ornaments, lighting candles, and draping garland.
Imagine the delight of children on Christmas morning
waking up to surprises as the countdown ends. Is it time to
open presents yet?

of branches. Decorated with red and turquoise accents
and simple white lights, the tree has the warm, welcoming
spirit of a holiday lodge. Nature-inspired charm abounds:
sparkling pine cones, birch garland dusted with silver
leafing, sprays of seasonal red berries, twists of turquoiseglittered picks, and touches of moss. Glass balls of varying
sizes, sleigh bells, rustic star and snowflake-shaped
galvanized steel ornaments add forested elegance. The tree
is finished off with hints of gathered sheer ribbon. Guests

Believe
4-foot tree
All Aboard! The Polar Express is a
magical train that can travel with or
without tracks. Its passengers arrive from everywhere. The
only requirement embarking children must possess is the
belief the train can transport them to their destination.
Children and their parents come to Mary Bridge because
they “believe” the hospital is the magical place that holds
the tools, knowledge, and compassion to address their
individual challenges and find a solution if one exists.
The Conductor is actually more than one person. The
Conductor is the team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and
support staff who work together doing everything in their
power to perform the magic of healing and reconstruction
for all children, regardless of their ability to pay.
The special 4’ tall, lightly flocked tree—adorned with
miniature railroad lanterns and souvenirs from The Polar
Express movie—harkens us back to a bygone era during
the heyday of passenger rail. Tiny white lights reflecting
multi-colored ornaments and a simulated cranberry garland
are representative of a traditional time. A genuine Lionel
“O” Gauge remote control Polar Express train encircles the
tree, zooming on a large FasTrack oval as assorted miniature
Lionel figurines from the movie watch. Listen closely and
you might hear Tom Hanks’ voice shouting “All Aboard” as
you watch steam flow out of the smokestack.
No tree would be complete without some special gifts. This
tree is no exception.
• A “Magic Table” with adjustable legs serves as a base
for the Lionel train set. This table can get taller as the
children grow
• Polar Express memorabilia, including DVD and poster
of the movie personally autographed by Tom Hanks,
hardbound copy of Chris Van Allsberg’s book, and jigsaw
puzzle
• Excursions include steam locomotive Cab Rides for one
adult and three tickets for accompanying passengers for
both the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad and the Northwest
Railway Museum Steam Train along with a $300 gift
certificate to cover 4 round-trip tickets from Seattle or
Tacoma to Portland or Vancouver, BC on any of the
Amtrak Cascade Talgo trains. Tickets please!
As you consider whether to bid for this tree or another, a
child from somewhere in the Pacific Northwest has arrived
for his or her journey and believes that it is people like you
who make the journey possible and says “thank you.”

Creature Comforts
Do you want to experience nature
firsthand but cringe at the thought of
camping because it means giving up
creature comforts? Why not try glamping? Glamorous
camping gives you the perfect passageway to actually
enjoy nature. Would you like to vacation in a secluded
treehouse, pet-friendly rustic cabin, or romantic luxury
yurt? Whether tucked inside a mountain or scattered
along white-sand beaches, you can find the perfect haven
for a trip in the wilderness. What are you waiting for?
Before you book your adventure, take home a beautiful
tree that takes its cue from nature’s first snow, but adds a
subtly sophisticated touch. Woodland creatures—owls,
birds, squirrels, deer, rabbits, and even hedgehogs—look
for comfort on and among the icicled boughs. You might
even find a nest or two and a few feathers if you look
closely. This is a tree with amenities. A bountiful array
of pinecones, MoneyPenny ornaments, flowers, and stars
fashioned from faux birch bark form the perfect backdrop
to highlight shiny and matte ornaments in organic shades
of cream, taffy, mocha, and chocolate. In a nod to rustic, a
tin star with light emanating from the circle cutouts tops
the tree. The rest of the tree is softly lit with over 2,000
tiny white lights and strands of clear pinecone lights that
weave through the branches.
This striking tree will make you want to go outdoors and
stay there.
• Redeem your $1,000 gift certificate at glampinghub.
com, a website that offers a choice of unique,
handpicked outdoor accommodations from all over the

• Add character to your patio, sunroom, or garden with a
weathered white Paxton Yorkshire bench from Grandin
Road, featuring an openwork design and smooth, slatted
surfaces crafted from solid hardwoods. The weathered
finish offers a gracefully aged style that would take
Mother Nature years to accomplish.
• Escape from the cold by wrapping yourself in an ivory

Peace . . . Hope . . .
Prosperity
These three words are among the most
meaningful wishes we can bestow on our
compatriots and fellow creatures. This lavishly decorated
Albero di Natale (Christmas tree) celebrates the renowned
city of Florence, Italy, the embodiment of those wishes.
Once one of medieval and Renaissance Europe’s most
influential cities, Florence became the cradle of capitalism.
It is now a powerhouse in style, art, architecture, and
craftsmanship. It is your turn to experience some ancient
and modern Florentine luxury without having to leave the
country.
First, bring a piece of Italy to your own backyard with a
bistro table already set with beautiful Mikasa dinnerware,
wine glasses, and wine pack. It’s the perfect vantage
point for viewing this magnificent Christmas tree, so
grand that you’d expect it to be in an Italian villa. This
stunning evergreen is trimmed in red, forest green, gold
and ivory, with warm and inviting textures ranging from
glitter to smolder. An array of lights—from the flicker of a
candle to the glow of embers—illuminates the landscape.
Unsurprisingly, the ornaments are opulent, reflecting the
golden age of Florentine culture. A stylized Lily (the Giglio),
in use since Florence’s inception, showcases tradition. The
Lion (Marzocco) represents power and independence.
Handcrafted instruments that are also music boxes point to
Florence’s continuing power in the arts.

Make a Joyful Noise for the
Diamond Jubilee!
The sparkling trumpets proclaim, “Let’s
make a Joyful Noise!” Sixty years ago,
passionate, dedicated community volunteers raised the
money to build Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. This
multifaceted tree and wreath celebrate the Diamond
Jubilee of their efforts and those who have followed
in their footsteps providing care for children in our
community.
This traditionally elegant tip flocked tree is aglow with
twinkling warm white lights. The joyful celebration begins
with glittered, jeweled leaves and sparkling iced branches
bursting from the apex. It’s resplendent with glittering,
matte and shining balls in platinum, pearl, and smoky
quartz, with mother of pearl orbs and sparkling diamondlike pave balls (all from petite to grand) nestled in the
snowy branches. Fanciful accents include: real trumpets
painstakingly gilded and glittered, hand-antiqued glittered
sheet music ribbon, iridescent platinum twig branches,
sophisticated platinum mercury glass finials, luxurious
mixed metal ornaments, and opulent fleur-de-lis ribbon,
with clear faceted drops gracing the branch tips. Scattered
clear glass orbs spotlight the rich contrast of fluffy white
maribou boa and crystal gems. This exceptional tree is
grounded by an adjustable cloverleaf base (from 9 to 18
inches high to suit your home) draped in smoky crushed
satin and a sparkling sterling dotted sash.
The tree is accompanied by a lavishly decorated 36 inch
lit wreath to carry the joyful theme through your home or
office. It is adorned with gilded and glittered real coronets
surrounded by a luxurious mix of gem and muted metal
ornaments tucked into the lush foliage.

A Bavarian Holiday
4-foot tree
O Tannenbaum!
O Christmas tree.
Thou tree most fair and lovely.
O Christmas tree you fill my heart with music.
The sight of thee at Christmastide
Spreads hope and gladness far and wide.
Willkommen! In the snowcapped mountains of Bavaria,
Adventzeit (Advent) is the time of expectation. Highly
decorated Christmas trees can’t be resisted as the
Bavarians count down the days until Christmas on
their Advent calendars. Enjoy this “fair and lovely”
tree—heaped to the brim with Old World charm—before
heading off to beautiful Leavenworth.
This verdant Tannenbaum has snow-dusted branches that
set off decorative glass balls in traditional colors of dark
red, gold, and bronze. A working cuckoo clock as tree
topper can’t be missed. Further signs of Bavarian roots are
featured throughout the tree in the form of glass-blown
ornaments from Germany, including images of cuckoo
clocks and lederhosen. Underneath the tree lie Advent
calendars with doors that open to reveal pictures and
treats.

Welcome Serenity
Bring serenity into your home or
workplace with this lovely, full-sized
tree which exudes the peacefulness that
follows a snow-fallen night.
A mostly white color scheme highlights the simple,
natural beauty of a snow-laden, newly-cut tree. Subtle
touches of gold and silver—infused through shiny
ornaments—add just the right amount of accent color and
become the perfect backdrop for nature-based ornaments,
including pinecones. Twigs and foliage jut out from the
tree, as if dropped from above. Custom-designed lighted
garlands—frosted with snow, ice, and glitter—make the
ornaments glisten ever so slightly, as if naturally lit by the
moonlight and stars. The entire tree is finished off with
luscious red berries, turning it into a snowy dream.
Maintain serenity with:
• Mini tree and wreath to coordinate with the tree

Tiny Bubbles
4-foot tree
Tiny bubbles, in the wine,
make me happy, make me feel fine.
Tiny bubbles make me warm all over with a feeling
That I’m going to love you ’til the end of time.
So here’s to the golden moon and here’s to the silver sea
And mostly here’s a toast to you and me
So here’s to the ginger lei I give to you today.
This artistic “bubbly” evergreen covered in baubles and
bubbles sits in a garden setting featuring tranquil water
and a sparkling trellis which is sure to make you smile
and lift your spirits. So if you are looking for a tree and
package with a bubbly personality, this may be the one
for you!
When you see this tree, you won’t think of glass ball
ornaments in the same way again. The designer uses
simple glass spheres in unconventional ways, creating the
illusion of shimmering bubbles. Pearlescent moons seem
to float on a glistening sea of silver, pinks and blues. Soft
twinkling lights glow from within, scattering the light,
making the ornaments iridescent, while shimmering orbs
drift from its branches, as if buoyant.
Bubbling water features and wine bubbles are sure to
complement your effervescent personality.

Mrs. Kringle’s Kitchen
4-foot tree
’Twas the Eve before Christmas
and all through the grounds
You could hear reindeer, elves packing,
and all of the sounds.
Have you ever wondered, though – or maybe you know.
Who feeds Santa and the Elves before they go?
Mrs. Kringle, of course, with kitchen support
While Kris builds the toys they hold down the fort.
The colors of her kitchen: copper, burgundy, and cream
Come sample a stew recipe she makes for her team
It’s hearty, it’s delicious, it will warm you just right
Happy Stewing, Merry Christmas, and to all a Good Night!
Form meets function in this charming holiday tree
that celebrates cooks. The tip-flocked tree provides
the backdrop for a clever display of modern and retro
ornamental kitchen utensils. Each is carefully painted and
glittered for the holidays. Cookie cutters and decorative
gingerbread children, along with fragrant spices, add
holiday appeal. The use of neutral shades of black, copper,
burgundy, cream, and champagne ensures the tree will
complement any kitchen. This tree is sure to add coziness
to a traditional kitchen or glamour to a modern kitchen.
The designers from Good Taste Unlimited (a personal
chef and small party catering service) will make sure you

Swinging from the
Chandelier
Looking for a beautiful, unconventional
tree to serve as a conversation starter
at your next party? Then this is the tree for you!
An otherwise ordinary tree has imaginatively been
transformed into a chandelier with skillful use of flocking,
careful use of lighting, and dramatic decorations.
The lightly flocked tree is dripping in dozens of crystals in
graduated sizes. The dangling droplets capture and bounce
light radiating from hundreds of shimmering warm white
lights. Candles seemingly controlled by a remote enhance
the illusion of a working chandelier. A silver ribbon bow
topper and silver fabric tree skirt beautifully complete the
tree.
Come see the dazzling tree the morning after an indulgent
party. We can only assume the hostess was swinging from
the chandelier. The evidence is all there: a chandelier has
come crashing down and lies beside a gorgeous bar cart
strewn with champagne glasses and other makings of the
night before. Hat boxes at the base of the tree have been
tipped over, revealing their secrets. What happened to the
remote?
Gather your friends for a party with these essentials:
• Silver-and-glass bar cart with assorted glassware
• Bottles of champagne and whiskey
• Sparkly party shoes and bow tie

Northwest Wonders
Outsiders are realizing what
Washingtonians have known for years:
the Pacific Northwest offers a land rich
with natural beauty, the perfect backdrop for open-air
activities for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.
Beautiful scenery and adventure might be a short ride
away, but there’s no need to rush back. Explore the natural
wonders of our own backyard with escapes to a North
Cascades forest and a Columbia Gorge vineyard. After you
fly fish (don’t worry, fly rods and lessons are provided) and
enjoy some wine (after all, grapes are a natural wonder)
in Eastern Washington, return home for more outdoor
adventure —with a sailboat excursion and a honey bee
keeper’s experience.
This beautiful tree and setting is quintessential Pacific
Northwest. A natural evergreen is wrapped in large,
muted white lights and decorated in natural colors—
brown, white, and silver with hints of bronze. Oversized
lanterns light the way for owls perched on the boughs.
This Northwest-inspired tree includes a collection of
handcrafted ceramic ornaments created by students from
Antioch University; look closely to find one-of-a-kind
fish, birds, leaves and canoes. White sprays and branches
organically rise from the boughs. Gaze at the gorgeous tree
from your new Adirondack chairs with table, handcrafted
by a local artist. Warm up by the fire pit, and cook with
your new barbeque and tools.

Sleigh Bells Ring
Are you listening? Close your eyes and
imagine yourself outside in the woods on
a snowy wintry night, all bundled up. As
a gentle breeze blows, you pull your coat tighter and hear
bells jingling in the distance. The jingling grows louder
and you realize a sleigh has stopped in front of you, the
driver waiting for you to take a ride through the woods.
The air is crisp, the stars are bright, the moon lights the
way. As your sleigh rounds a corner, you spot this perfectly
magnificent Christmas tree—glitzy and rustic all at the
same time. Every snowy branch illuminates as clear glass
balls, crystal teardrops, and glass pinecones catch and
spread the glow cast by over 2,200 small white lights. Ball
ornaments in shades of green, silver, and white—in sizes
ranging from small to large—find a home alongside lush
sprays composed of snowy greenery, sparkly pinecones,
and juniper berries. A rustic garland of small jingle bells
weaves through the tree, reinforcing the bell theme.
At the foot of the tree are more lights to brighten the
1940’s Flexible Flyer Wee Racer sled and antique, wooden
bearpaw snowshoes.
• Works of Art: Tom Torrens bell with 32 inch metal
stand topped with a handsome piece of madrone; North
Country 18 inch Nantucket buoy bell with soothing
chime; 2 custom-designed Christmas pillows, rustic
wooden “Sleigh Bells Ring” sign suitable for porch or
mantel display
• Barware: Growler plus 6 gift cards for local breweries, 4
festive 16-oz. beverage glasses proclaiming “It Still Rings
for Me”; red, rustic metal wine carrier with holiday wine
• Festive Funds: $1,000 Visa card allowing you to plan
your dream holiday experience. What about a ski
day for the family at White Pass? Perhaps a trip to
Leavenworth? Maybe a Crystal Mountain gondola
ride, snowshoeing, and dinner at the Summit House?

Christmas sleigh bells ring.

A Garden of Flamboyance
In this garden of flamboyance, whimsical
art comes outside. Local artisan and
contractor Karen McClain has created
a garden full of magical colors and expressions of Nature’s
art. She is well known in the area for her passion for
color, love of whimsy, and design of functional art. To
commemorate the 60th anniversary of Mary Bridge
Children’s Hospital, she has turned to the Atomic Age for
inspiration, bringing back that era’s vivid combination of
colors and metallic tones, and she has re-imagined its most
famous yard icon—the pink flamingo. What do you call
more than one flamingo? Flamboyance, of course. This
artist-inspired tree and garden accessories are sure to bring
whimsy to any outdoor space and generate smiles.
The extraordinary tree is a mid-century, retro-look
evergreen topped with a 1960s iconic Sputnik-shaped
aluminum starburst lit with white lights. Colors typical
of the period are used: aqua, orange, avocado green and
fuchsia along with silver, copper and bronze metallic.
Large wire flower-like pieces and 1960s-shaped ornaments
are tucked into the tree and interspersed throughout. The
focal point of the tree is seven custom-designed, colorfully
hand-painted yard art flamingos. A green shag rug serves
as tree skirt and achor for teh color story.
Create your own garden of flamboyance with these
treasures:
• 7 flamingos from the decorated tree to skip through
your garden or come inside. Each one-of-a-kind
flamingo is signed by the artist, comes with its own
base, and is clearcoated with UV-resistant polyurethane
to protect against the elements
• Aqua-colored metal bistro table and 2 chairs, 4 foot
metal flamingo plant holder, 7 foot metal garden trellis
with removable stand, aqua-colored glazed pottery
candlesticks for citronella candles and matching aquacolored bird sculpture
• 4 custom-designed & painted birdhouses complete
with stand or shepherd’s hook to place directly into
your garden soil and large ceramic urn filled with
coordinating colored silk flowers
• $100 gift certificate to Windmill Gardens

A Tribute to America’s
Heroes in LEGOs
4-foot tree
Inspired by the brave men and women
who fought the raging Northwest wildfires in the summer
of 2015, this designer has created an original, dramatic
scene-scape, built entirely of Legos, that reveals a Hotshot
Battalion battling a menacing blaze.
The name LEGO is a combination of Danish words
for “play well.” This tree’s designer has played well, preassembling a set of LEGO firefighters and police officers
and setting them in the branches, poised to fight danger.
Everything these playfigures need to fight the fire is
there—hook and ladder truck with hoses spewing “water,”
all in LEGOs of course. There’s even a helicopter flying
over the scene. The choice of colors—red, black, white,
and blue—enhances the drama.
It’s now your turn to play well with a sizeable collection of
LEGOs including:
• Hand-crafted LEGO fire engine table with lights in all
the right places
• Assembled LEGOs ready for display
• New in-box fire-themed and policed-themed LEGO
kits.

The Magic of Books –
Where Dreams Come True
We invite you to celebrate 60 years
of magic for Mary Bridge Children’s
Hospital & Disneyland by supporting the Magical Reading
Wagon, which provides a new book for every child who
visits our hospital. Marvel at the magic all around you in
this world of wonders by stepping inside a storybook tree
and display fit for a Disney princess.
For the first time in forever there’ll be magic, there’ll be fun!
I’m almost there, I’m almost there – I will ride, I will fly,
chase the wind and touch the sky
I walked with you once upon a dream –
I’m wishing, I’m wishing . . .
When will my reflection show who I am inside?
Unbelievable Sights – A Whole New World –
Colors of the Wind – Let it Go!
Up where they walk, up where they run,
up where they stay all day in the sun
wandering free, wish I could be part of that world.
Through tales as old as time, Disney songs and storybooks
bring JOYFULL noise to our lives. This tree captures that
famous Disney enchantment, creating a place like no
other place for princesses. Twinkling white lights show off
the Disney princesses, including a Bradford musical tree
collectible. Not surprisingly, princess colors—light pink,
purple, and blue—are abundant. Build-A-Bear Disney
bears surround the tree.

“It’s a Wonderful Life”
The It’s a Wonderful Life story
about George Bailey all began with
a Christmas card. After years of
unsuccessfully trying to shop his short story, “The
Greatest Gift,” to publishers, finally in 1943 Philip Van
Doren Stern decided to give the gift of words to his
closest friends when he printed up 200 copies of the story
and sent them out as a 21-page Christmas card. Once
discovered, the story eventually became one of the most
recognized and lived-by movies for its wonderful portrayal
of the meaning of life, demonstrated through a tree, a bell,
and angel wings. This Festival vignette comes complete
with a themed tree, full-fledged living room, and a trip for
two to the “real” Bedford Falls in upstate New York with a
stop at The Big Apple.
Alit with white lights, the elevated, flocked tree is
festooned with beautiful angel wings and a topper like no
other, a show-stopping mirrored piece. The eye-catching
tree is adorned with feather angel wings along with
stunning silver and glass ornaments and bells. Sparkly
red ornaments and red ribbons add old-fashioned charm.
Under the tree you will find a Red Flyer wagon, tricycle,
and more classic toys.
The tree is set within a comfortable living room scene
that includes a Lopi electrical fireplace complete with a
mantel. Above the mantel, a fabulous Christmas wreath
is decked out with signed It’s A Wonderful Life ornaments,
while two stockings are hung with care from the mantle,
each with a baby alpaca fur teddy bear poking his head
out. The homey scene is finished off with a cozy rug and
a unique custom collectors’ mannequin angel that touts
wings, burlesque pearl corset tutu, and crown.

One Enchanted Evening
Tablescape
Imagine the Old World ambiance of
an aristocratic dining room in a British
castle or a French chateau: fireplace aglow in the corner,
candelabra candles flickering on the table, perfectly linedup gold-trimmed plates, and sparkling crystal. Outside
snow falls on the trees. This Christmas tablescape portrays
elegance at its best. It’s an Old World Christmas table set
for royalty and is sure to bring you back to a time when
Christmas dinner was a grand affair.
Your Christmas event starts with a dramatic place
setting for all eight guests, revolving around antique and
vintage dishes—in white porcelain with elaborate gold
embellishments—meticulously set on top of champagnecolored lace linens. Limoges dinner plates form the anchor
for Noritake cake plates which, in, turn, hold up Tiffin
sherbet bowls, designed in glass with gold-encrusted wide
rims. Inside the footed dessert bowls, you’ll find a small
wrapped gift. The assorted dishes pair beautifully with
crystal-cut wine glasses, water goblets, and gold Tiffin
sherry glasses. Attention to detail continues with the
lavish centerpiece: a cream-colored porcelain Santa,
sleigh, and reindeer set trimmed with gold accents;
exquisite gold and crystal candelabra; and custom-made
vintage, rhinestone table tree; and small champagne gold
mini-tree decorated in new and vintage ornaments.
Now that the table is set, you deserve a well-deserved
break, so put on your Christmas CD and pour yourself
a glass of wine (from the case of wine provided). After
dinner is finished, it’s time for a final toast to family
and friends with a sip of aged Sherry (from the bottle
provided).
After the holidays are finished, you will enjoy
• Table setting for 8 to use year after year
• Signed Waterford wine decanter

Blue Hawaii
Life’s better at the beach! Bring the
laid-back and breezy vibe of the sea and
all things beachy into your life with this
Hawaii-inspired tree, fire table, and backyard luau. You
can pick your trip to paradise—wherever that may be—
using a pair of plane tickets and hotel gift certificate.
As soon as you discover this tree, you’ll be relaxed by the
soothing tints of tropical blue and seafoam green and the
glimmer of ambient white lights. An actual chandelier
with genuine crystals doubles as a stunning tree topper.
These diamond-like crystals on the topper—along with
baubles, teardrops, and clear, iridescent balls on the
branches—collect and scatter the light, glimmering like
droplets of water bouncing through a tide. Glass-blown
fish, shells, and natural seascape sprays—combined with
splashes of teal and royal blue—add texture and depth to
this beautiful underwater scene. The parrot perching on
the front of the tree and treasures from the oceans leave
no doubt you have reached paradise. Underneath the tree
you will find Hawaiian-inspired gourmet baskets filled with
indulgences to make your holidays easygoing.
Unwind under the lighted palm tree with your new
Pacific fire table, complete with a crystal glass insert and
bar stools. Turn on the knob for instant natural gas and
watch the teal crystals sparkle. (You can keep the table
on display or exchange it for one customized by color and
height.)

United Airlines flies) and $1,000 Marriott gift card for

Joyful Woodland Critters
4-foot tree
How many of you have sat on Rachel
the Pig at Seattle’s Pike Place Market,
touched the Husky at the University of Washington,
or taken a selfie with the Duck at the University Place
Library? Nationally renowned, local artist Georgia
Gerber sculpted all of these public bronze pieces. At
Gala, you will have an incredible opportunity to become
a personal collector of sixteen, solid pewter, woodland
critters (ranging in size from 3 inches to 5 inches in
height and length) from the famous Georgia Gerber
Christmas Collection and the chance to purchase future
pieces. There are sixteen separate figurines, one for each
of the past sixteen years they have been released. These
beautifully detailed squirrels, cats, pigs, and more are the
inspiration for this four-foot woodland tree presented
in a natural setting. The highest bidder will have the
opportunity to meet Georgia Gerber at her home on
Whidbey Island and tour her working studio.
Gerber’s works of art pose near a refined woodsy tree that
incorporates elements of nature. Natural colors—brown,
tan, and white—prevail. Brown balls and pinecones
become a perfect backdrop for birds, pewter-colored
berries, and glittery sprays. Burlap ribbon embellished with
glittery pine cones adds a touch of warmth. The tree is set
on a faux-fur white tree skirt. Rounding out the woodland
tree exhibit are two sets of indoor/outdoor lighted leafless
trees, bench, firewood, and sparkled branches.
• Meet Georgia Gerber in a tour of her studio, foundry,
and gardens at Whidbey Island and take home with you
two of Georgia’s books
• Stay 1-night in a waterfront guestroom at The Inn at
Langley on Whidbey Island. Included in your stay is
a multi-course dinner for two prepared by Chef Matt
Costello
• Experience Point Defiance and Northwest Trek with
a Deluxe Grandparent Combo Family membership,
enjoy dining at the Ram Restaurant with a $100 gift
certificate, and splurge with a $200 Visa card.

You’re a Good Man,
Santa Claus
“Happiness,” says Charlie Brown, “is
knowing a secret. Happiness is . . .
learning to whistle . . . climbing a tree . . . two kinds of ice
cream . . . catching a firefly . . . For happiness is anyone
and anything at all that’s loved by you.” You are sure to
find contentment this season as you celebrate with family
and friends around this fun, brightly colored tree and see
the smiling faces and hear the giggles of children opening
up fabulous gifts left by Santa.
Full of large ornaments in a rainbow of shades, this
semi-flocked tree elicits joyful thoughts. A stuffed Charlie
Brown shows us that happiness is wearing a Santa hat
and pulling a Red Flyer wagon with a Christmas tree
in it. As this decorated tree demonstrates, happiness is
sparkly snowflakes . . . perfectly shaped ball ornaments . .
. whimsical sprays . . . ornaments with zig zags . . . Snoopy
. . . chevron ribbon . . . and thousands of warm twinkling
lights.
Have your little ones been good all year? Then reward
them with these toys designed to inspire imaginations and
curiosities:
• Children’s picnic table and Adirondack chairs
• Lemonade/puppet stand
• Wagon, activity rugs, toys, books, and movies

Jolly Heartfelt Holiday
4-foot tree
You’ll fall in love with this merry and
bright holiday tree brimming with
charming embellishments and a retro 1950s/1960s
vibe. Underneath the tree you’ll find old-fashioned toys
reminiscent of the period.
The jolly-fun mood of the tree is reflected in the
abundance of ball ornaments in vibrant tones of red,
lime green, turquoise, pink, and orange. Relief is provided
with traditional green, silver, and white ornaments
and white twinkling lights. Adorable felt and sequined
ornaments—both vintage and new—add homespun, retro
appeal. Silver tinsel drips from the branches, while beaded
garlands and fun ribbons weave around and through the
branches. Of course a retro tree wouldn’t be complete
unless it had a star topper featuring colorful lights and
silver tinsel trim along with a red tree skirt trimmed in
white fur.
You’ll smile when you see the gifts under the tree for the
memories they bring back. There’s a reason these toys
have stood the test of time.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside
Remember how everything came alive
for Ben Stiller in the film A Night at the
Museum when all the doors closed and
the lights dimmed. Admit it, you wished you were there.
Kids will have the opportunity to explore and fall asleep
in the darkened halls of the place that started the whole
sleepover craze, the Museum of Natural History in New
York City. The cherished adventure of sleeping away from
home is successfully portrayed in a glamping-themed tree
and children’s camping vignette.
As the sun sets, head outside to admire your glamorously
rustic Christmas tree. Flashlights optional! Decorated
with magnolias, cotton branches, and birch garlands, the
tree is rustic. Refinement is added with metallic mercury
glass, a hint of bronze, and snow leopard. The whole tree
is wrapped in luxurious ribbon.
No grown-ups allowed! It’s a kids’ outdoor sleepover.
Indulge little imaginations with a canvas teepee and
Lincoln logs along with a comfy assortment of animalprint sleeping bag. The classic kids’ pastime of camping
outdoors under the stars gets an upgrade with s’mores and
hot chocolate bar and picnic table. If they get scared, the
children have life-sized plush animals to snuggle with.
Your unforgettable mission awaits:
• 2 tickets (open only to children ages 6 – 13) for an
overnight sleepover (5:45 p.m. – 9 a.m.) at the Museum
of Natural History in New York City. After the museum
closes, kids head out with a flashlight with their group
in search of adventure. They can stand beneath a T.
Rex, experience live-animal exhibits, watch The Secret
Ocean in a 3-D theatre before settling down on a cot
to sleep beneath a blue whale, next to an African
elephant, or at the base of a volcano replica. Dates in
2016 still available at press time are February 19, March
12, April 29, May 7, May 13, and June 24.
• $2,500 VISA card to cover cost of flying to New York
City and hotel accommodations

A Decadent Housewife
Tablescape
Ladies Night Out
Make it a Girls’ Night In with this
eye-catching spoof on the stereotypic life of 1950s women,
celebrating all the women who launched Mary Bridge
Children’s Hospital 60 years ago. Tied together with an
inventive mix of retro and new pieces and laced with a
touch of the holiday season, this quirky tablescape will
make you chuckle at how women were expected to be
happy homemakers bound to the kitchen cooking and
cleaning, but couldn’t stop dreaming of how to escape this
“domestic bliss.” A martini anyone? All this housewife
madness is enough to make a girl want to have a little fun
with her best friends.
A mannequin—wearing a fun apron and requisite set of
pearls—invites her guests to sit down at the colorful table
set for eight. It’s drenched in layers of red and turquois and
topped with red polka-dotted bread plates reminiscent
of the 1950s and vintage glasses with more polka dots.
This whimsical display is topped off with a small, white
faux Christmas tree and a cake stand with delicious cake
balls, all decorated in the bright themed colors. The
mannequin stands by a retro red kids’ play kitchen, ready
to share her secrets of homemaking with her daughter or
granddaughter.
Too busy doing household chores to shop? No worries.
This package comes complete with:
• A cart housing many vintage and new kitchen items,
including a KitchenAid mixer, coffee pot, mixing
bowls, strainers, rolling pins, Pyrex, cake plates plus a
laundry basket filled with even more kitchen items
• A retro stepstool displaying a bar set up with a martini
maker, large bottle of vodka, and red martini glasses
• Gifts designed for decadence, including perfume and
gift certificate for a massage and facial with Heather at
Massage Envy and a haircut and coloring with Dennis
at Angelo Mendi. After all, a girl needs to look good
when she meets her friends for lunch after laboring all
morning in the kitchen!

White Hot!
The Museum of Glass (MOG) designers
have transformed an already exquisite
Ice Cold winter wonderland tree into
a breathtaking White Hot tree with the addition of
signature pieces of hand-blown glass. It’s all inspired by the
museum’s largest event of the year, Red Hot Auction and
Gala. MOG gets some help from their friends at Larson
Porsche, Glass Distillery, and X Group Restaurants to
bring you a sophisticated lifestyle.
It all starts with the tree. The tasteful, White Hot tree
features handmade glass pieces designed and completed
by MOG’s own fusing team: snowflake-like ornaments
with specks of gold come with jagged edges, artistically
resembling majestic snow-capped peaks in an actual
winter wonderland. Splashes of glass, gold and shimmer
ensure the tree will sparkle all season long. Ornaments
imprinted with the MOG insignia will shimmer
beautifully while dangling above the snowdrift tree skirt.
Ready to start living the refined life?

handblown by our Hot Shop Team as well as glass and

Auction Rules
and Information

•Each guest will receive a bid number upon arrival. Write
your bid number on the bid sheet when bidding on silent
auction items and hold your bid card up to bid on live
auction items. Be prepared to bid when the auctioneer makes
a price call, as the process moves quickly.
•In accordance with laws of the State of Washington, a bid
acknowledged by the live auctioneer is a legal contract to
purchase the item; as is a bid acknowledged by the silent
auction official, as the top bid is a legal contract to purchase
that silent auction item. By bidding in the live or silent
auction, each bidder agrees to abide by the auction rules here
stated.
•Please pay for all purchases before leaving. We will gladly
accept your payment by cash, personal or corporate
check, VISA, American Express, Discover or MasterCard.
Please make all checks payable to Mary Bridge Children’s
Foundation. A receipt suitable for tax purposes will be
mailed following the event. Payment in full is required Gala
evening, Friday, December 4, 2015.
•In accordance with IRS requirements, a listing of the
Fair Market Value for all items for auction shall be made
available for review by guests beginning at 5:30 p.m. on
Friday, December 4, 2015 at the banking area.
•All purchases/transactions at the Festival are exempt from
Washington state sales tax. All other taxes and licenses are
the responsibility of the purchaser.
•Due to license and insurance regulations, all items requiring
a title or transfer of license must be claimed at the donor’s
place of business. Purchasers are obligated to pay all transfer
fees, license fees, and taxes as well as make arrangements for
insurance coverage.
•Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable
organization. Auction payments are tax-deductible as a
charitable contribution only to the extent provided by
law. Please consult your tax professional regarding the
deductibility of any auction purchase.
•All purchases are final. There will be no exchanges or
refunds on items either at Festival of Trees or donor’s place
of business, unless stated otherwise.
83
•Each purchaser is required to provide delivery instructions
for auction items at the Tree Delivery counter. Please refer
to the Delivery of Trees section for further details, including
delivery area.
•Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation reserves the right to add,
substitute or withdraw any item or component from auction
prior to the call for bids.
•Any item not receiving the required minimum bid may be
removed from auction.
•The purchaser understands that under no circumstances will
any tree be removed from Festival of Trees prior to Monday,
December 7, 2015. Please refer to the Delivery of Trees
section for further details.
•Reservations for trips and vacation accommodations must
be arranged with the donor for mutually acceptable dates
unless otherwise specified. Tickets in travel packages are for
coach-class services unless otherwise noted. No refunds or
exchanges will be allowed on travel packages for cancelled
tickets or accommodations. Some tickets may include
restrictions or “blackout” periods. Please consult your travel
advisor regarding the purchase of travel insurance.
•Unless otherwise noted, all goods and services must be
claimed and used within one year of the auction date.
•Festival of Trees has attempted to describe and catalog
all items correctly, but all items are offered as is, where is.
Festival of Trees neither warrants nor represents, and in no
event shall be responsible for, the correctness of descriptions,
genuineness, authorship, provenance, or condition of the
items. No statement, made in this catalog or made orally at
the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty,
representation, or assumption of liability. Items have not
been appraised unless so noted in writing.
•Gala evening volunteers may request a bid card. By bidding
in the live or silent auction, each volunteer agrees to abide
by these rules.
•The auctioneer is the final decision maker on all live auction
activities.
Additional Silent Auction Rules
•Each item will have a posted minimum bid.
•Bid raises must be in minimum amounts specified on the bid
sheet for each item, or the bid will be disqualified.
•The first bidder listing his or her bid number in the
Guaranteed Purchase Box owns that item.
•BE CAREFUL! Silent bids cannot be withdrawn. Your bid
number on the bid sheet constitutes a legal contract to buy.
