The main facility is located south of Houston, 3 miles to the
West of the NASA Johnson Space Center. Costa Rican facility
built on the city of Liberia, Guanacaste with a total of 14
engineers, all of them Costa Rican.
•
Milestones:
– Dec 2006, the Costa Rican team of AARC generated
their first plasma
– Oct 2008: Plasma rocket engine showed successful
results of testing phase I
– Jun 2009: VASIMR was recognized as one of the Top 10
breaking edge technologies in the aerospace field by the
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics

– Nov 2012: The CORAAL alliance (made up of six

building the platform for the rocket engine
