inca “El Espino” has been in
Jorge Calderon’s family since
the 1970’s The farm is located
in the Acosta district of Tarrazu,
Costa Rica at an altitude of about
1,430 meters above sea level. Jorge’s
parents have always been small-scale
farmers focused on producing high
quality coffee. In 2007, Jorge decided
to increase the unique nature of their
coffee even further by expanding his
farm’s production. Jorge is motivated
by his goal of providing a better life
for his family through the farm’s
coffee production, and he realizes the
best way to succeed is by producing
