2015 SENIOR DEPARTMENT FLASH BACKS
Jerry Thorne owner of ‘Party Animal Travel
Agency’ presented a workshop on “ Travel
and Tricks” for seniors. He discussed how
to travel with friends and make new ones
along the way. Also what documentation is
needed for travel such as passports and
enhanced drivers license.
Michelle Moccia a Nurse Practitioner at St. Mary Mercy
Hospital, presented a workshop on “Does It Really Matter?” She shared information pertaining to end-of-life
issues and decisions. Even though these decisions are
extremely Important, 56% have not communicated their
end of life decisions and only 23% have actually followed
through and prepared themselves.
Stevey G. from Corpre Sano
Home Health Care serenaded
the audience with music from his
guitar during lunch at
Maplewood Community Center.
The seniors were also entertained during lunch by a 15 year old violinist
Samara White. She has played the Civic Youth Ensemble Program at
Orchestra Hall run through Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Also she has
played with the Michigan Philharmonic Orchestra through lessons at the
Michigan State University Community School of Music.
The seniors participated in a Beauty Break which included making Christmas Cards for sick children
who are hospitalized during the holidays. The Cards were very well appreciated through the
organization called Cards for Hospitalized Kids
