BRIGHT STAR KIDS SCHOOL LABELS, WALL
Woolworth’s Earn & Learn—Thank You to All Families
On behalf of the students of Padstow Park Public school I STICKERS & SCHOOL BAGS
Principal’s Report
would like to thank all families for the wonderful job of
collecting stickers and points sheets. As a result of all the
points we received we have been able to buy $9,808 worth
of educational products for the students of our school. This
was an amazing effort and we are very grateful for the
support of our whole school community.
The products range from a whole play kitchen for K-2 to
human body models and science kits for the Primary
students. All Key Learning Areas have been covered. This
high quality support material will greatly enhance learning
across all Stages of learning.
We will receive these goods some time early Term 1 2013
and they will be placed on display in the Library so that all
families can see what was purchased.
All goods were purchased through Modern Teaching Aids,
a company that has high quality material for schools. Due to
your efforts we have been able to obtain things that we
would normally consider to be luxury items that we usually
purchase only after the essentials have been covered. Both
this year and last year we have been able to get multiple
copies of many items so that even more students can have
access to some great learning material.
Thank you very much to our hard working P & C and Mrs
Gheno for their efforts in collecting, stamping, collating,
and sending in all the sheets. Thanks must also go to Mrs
Weldon for co-ordinating the purchasing and entering all
the request online. (A long and at times tedious job!)
Naturally we can’t wait to use all the things we have bought!
Congratulations Debaters! Semi-Finalists
Congratulations to our Stage 3 debating team who won their
final pool debate last week. They now move on to the semi
finals with a debate at Georges Hall next Thursday. We
wish these talented speakers all the best for the next
round. Congratulations to Mrs Bowen for the effort it has
taken to get the team this far.
Well Done Choir!
Our school choir has been selected to perform at the South
West Sydney Director’s Choice Celebration. As this is a
celebration of the very best the region has to offer, it is an
honour for a school choir to be selected to perform. This is
a testament to the quality of our music program, the
talents of our students and the talent and effort of Mrs
Taylor. Well done everyone.
Brilliant Dancing!
Congratulations to all our dance groups who performed
brilliantly at the Bankstown District Dance Festival in week
2. Well done to Adam Panovski & Andrew Alexakis who did a
wonderful job of compering on what was an exciting night
with emergency alarms going off as well as a full auditorium.
I am sure all our dancers are very grateful to both Mrs
Holden & Mrs Sharp for the opportunity to perform due to
the hard work they put in to rehearsing the students
throughout the year.
Mrs Jane Mollica, Principal
Our school has recently signed up
for some easy fundraising.
Everything is done online and every
sale will give our school 15%
commission.
All you have to do is log into
http://www.FDR701.brightstarkids.com.au
which will take you straight to the Padstow Park page.
There are plenty of name labels to choose from as well as
wall art, bag tags and lots of Christmas ideas.
Take a look online at your convenience and remember,
every order will be making money for our school. Tell your
friends and family too!
UNIFORM SHOP NEWS

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST
AVAILABLE MONDAY’S
Lorraine Roberts
Dear Parents
Our school, Padstow Park Public School, has chosen to
employ a Speech Pathologist for a specific project throughout
2012.
Amy Lovat is a qualified Speech Pathologist who works for
Educational Speech Pathology & Therapy Services. Amy will
be working at our school each Monday throughout Terms 3 &
4 2012.
Parents, it is important to note that you cannot refer your
child directly to this Speech Pathologist. If your child already
attends speech therapy outside of school please do not stop
attending. The Educational Speech Pathology program
cannot offer the same individualised therapy your child will
receive through either Community Health or Private speech
therapy.
Amy’s main role is to work with our teachers in the whole
classroom to support the speaking and listening skills of the
children. Amy will also be working with small groups of
children to improve talking and listening skills.
Amy may also be conducting screenings and full diagnostic
assessments at the
school. You will
receive
written
information if your
child requires a full
assessment. Your
written permission
is required for this
to occur.
