Petersgate News www.petersgate-infant-school.co.uk/blog/ Marshmallow Igloos! In Early Years, we have been continuing our Arctic topic. We enjoyed finding out how Inuits live, and how they use igloos. We made our own igloos! They were constructed using icing to glue the marshmallow ‘bricks’ together, we all got very sticky! Be part of Petersgate’s exciting journey on the stepping stones of success! Looking at the big picture and bringing it all together! Thinking about: √ Welcome, Arrival, Access and Circulation √ Play, Socialising, Breaks and Lunchtimes √ Outdoor Teaching and Learning √ Early Years √ The Natural Environment √ Campus, Community and Context of the Grounds What other schools have said… We would really like it if you could spare a couple of hours to share your views. In exchange, we can offer you a productive morning with adults and children working together for the school’s future, refreshments and cake and a big thank you! So we can cater for refreshments, please let Della in the office know if you are able to join us. ([email protected]) PoPS The next event is our Disco on Friday 12th February where Martyn from Infinity Discos has kindly offered to DJ for us again. We ran a poll on our Facebook page asking parents if they would like to have the disco straight from school or the normal time of 5.15pm, thank you to everyone who voted. I'm pleased to say that the majority voted for it to start at the earlier time, so this disco will start at 3.15pm and finish at 4.45pm. Due to the time change some of the PoPS team are unable to help due to other commitments so it can only go ahead if we have some helpers, please do let me know ASAP if you can spare an hour or so. Please note payment for the Disco is to be paid upfront, £3.00 per child or 2 for £5.00 (siblings only), please find letter with this newsletter. The staff have kindly agreed that we can have a Non-Uniform day so the children don't have to get changed before the disco starts but please remember it will be a normal school day so don't send them in their best clothes. Please also find the details of our Annual Quiz Night attached to this newsletter. This has been a really great evening that has grown in popularity over the last few years. There are some serious Quizzers out there who play to win, but there are others who enjoy a cheap and fun night out with friends, so why not get together and come along for the fun? Team sheets and fish and chip supper order forms are with this newsletter, please do get them back ASAP. Casual Staff Are you free during 12—1.15pm—if so, can you help us?—we need a Casual Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant. If we have any staff absent, we need to call on Casual staff to come and work—sometimes on very short notice. If you are interested, please speak to Della in the office for an application form.
