EDITORIAL
Spreading Christmas Cheer
in Simple Ways
Christmas is one of the most-happily
celebrated holidays in the Philippines. We
have the 9-day Simbang Gabi, the house-tohouse caroling and on Christmas day itself,
the giving of gifts and visiting of friends and
relatives.
However, we must remember the true
meaning of Christmas. It is the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It should
remind us of the difficulties of Mother Mary
and St. Joseph in finding a place to stay in
after a long and tiring travel. They did find a
place but it was a manger where Jesus was
born. Jesus was not born in an elegant place;
He was born in a manger where animals
lived.
Therefore, the birth of Jesus illustrates to us the way we should celebrate
Christmas, We do not need big, elegant superb celebrations. We should celebrate the
birth of Jesus in simple ways.
Let us celebrate Christmas with our
family and friends. Let us go to church together and thank God for the blessings we
receive. Let us share whatever we can to
those people who are in need. Let us share
the Christmas spirit by caroling with our
friends. There are so many things we can do
to celebrate Christmas in simple ways.
Let us remember that the true spirit of
Christmas is how we remember the birth of
our savior.

work for Autari for some years. Next to visit was Kuya Roberto Fornari.
This is his third visit to Fiore.
During their stay, the volunteers observed the classrooms and

Oh, look, it’s a book
I’m sure it must be
A path of adventures waiting for me,
A yellow brick road to the wizard of oz,
A frivolous poem without any cause.
Should I open it and
peek what’s inside?
What if it’s scary I
might need to hide.
I’ll never know unless
I dare.
I need a good laugh,
a cry or a scare
I’m sure it can waitwell, then I’ll never
know
Maybe it’s someplace that I’ll never go.
But today is the day that’s been waiting for me
I’ll open this book and I will see.

Ipinanganak at lumaki tayo
Bakit Ba Ganito

Kalamidad, unos, at pagsubok ang naranasan
Kasalukuyang hinaharap ng ating bayan,
Dahil sa isang malakas na bagyong nagdaan
Maraming Pilipino ang naghihirap
Iba’t-ibang bahagi ng Pilipinas
Sinalanta, sinira at winasak
Ang resulta ng bagyong mabagsik,
Na walang awa ng humagupit.

Na tila isang bangungot sa kanilang buhay,
Bangungot na hindi malilimutan kailanman

Napalitan ito ng kalungkutan.
Ngunit hindi alintana ang hirap na dinanas
Kasabay ng unos,
