Spending money for canteen facilities may be taken but I
cannot ensure access to these facilities due to the
number of students wanting to use them. A small
daypack is easier to carry than the larger school bag.
Students may take a camera and/or small electronic
games if they wish but they need to be responsible for
this item themselves on the day. Students are not
allowed to take mobile phones. If you need to contact us
urgently I can be reached on 0402 129 853. Should
parents need to be contacted I am quite happy to take
mobile numbers from you in the morning.
Wristbands will be given to our students on the morning
of the event. This acts as our ticket into the conference.
Thank you to those who have already paid the full
amount. Please note if you have not paid your final
payment for the conference could you do so by Friday

Easter Event 2013
WHEN: Thursday 28 March
Thursday 28 March
2:00pm
Our hall
One of our favourite events we have introduced
over the past few years are our talent sharing
afternoons. These afternoons give our students a
chance to perform for the rest of the school and
show off their talents.
Over the last few years we have discovered many
hidden talents be they singing, dancing or musical
talent.
Mrs Bennet is coordinating Kurrajong’s Got Talent
this term. If you would like to perform at this term’s
event you need to see Mrs Bennet and bring any
music you may like to use into Mrs Bennett by
Wednesday 27 March 2013.
TIME: 12:00 noon
Premier’s Reading Challenge
WHERE: Kurrajong Public School Playground
The Premier’s Reading Challenge is well under way
and Kurrajong students are taking such an
enthusiastic approach to completing the challenge.
This year we have decided to make a few changes
to our annual Easter Event. Our students will have
the choice of 3 different creative activities to make
at home for the day.
Students can choose to:
1. Design and make a hat to wear in the
parade OR
2. Decorate an Easter egg template –
available from their teacher OR
3. Decorate Eggs - you can decorate one or
more boiled or plastic eggs. You may
choose to make your eggs into characters
or decorate them with a theme. They may
present them in a carton or basket or
individually.
It is with great pleasure that I make special mention
of Cameron Weekes from K/1B who has already
completed his challenge! Well done Cameron, you
have put in great effort to read 30 books from your
K-2 booklist in such a short time.
Let’s get creative!
Our Easter Parade will start at 12:00pm in the
playground. All students will parade around with
their Easter hat or craft for all to see. Students will
be able to wear their special clothes on the day
rather than their uniform. We look forward to some
very creative and amazing projects. After the
parade we invite all parents to join us for a picnic
lunch in the school grounds, followed by a talent
sharing afternoon in the hall.
There is plenty of time for all to complete the
challenge by the end of August. Please see me in
the library for any help with the PRC.
Keep reading everyone!

Life Education Van Coming Soon
Harold and the Life Education Mobile Classroom
will be at school from Monday 8 April to
Wednesday 10 April. A note went home to families
yesterday.
The lessons taught are intended to support
teachers in the key learning area of Personal
Development,
Health
and
Physical
Education. They are fun and informative, and each
child will receive a sticker and a workbook, which
will be completed in class during Term 2.
This year this experience is being subsidised by
our P&C so the cost to families is reduced to $5.00
a student.
