OUR NEXT REHEARSAL
Tues, March 16
As you should know, the 2010 Spring convention is
fast approaching for the Sunshine District. It’s another chance to fellowship with all our fellow Florida
barbershoppers as well as another test our performance skills along side of some other great
singers.
The dates are April 9-11 and the venue is, once
again, the beautiful Times Union Performing Arts
Center on the Jacksonville riverfront.
If you haven’t yet registered for the convention or
secured your hotel lodging…what are you waiting
for?
Here’s the link on the Sunshine District website that
has all the info you need.
http://sunshinedistrict.org/conventions
In case you’re interested…and of course you are…
the Heralds are returning to the Spring contest
stage in an attempt to claim the District Chorus
Championship title for the 9th time.
So… get your paperwork in order, get your tux
pressed… polish up the pitch pipe and prepare
yourself for yet another wonderful convention.
Regular rehearsal - 7pm
and weekly afterglow @

LOT 'S WIFE
The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot 's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt, when little
Jason interrupted, 'My Mommy looked back once while she was driving,' he announced triumphantly, 'and she
turned into a telephone pole!'
GOOD SAMARITAN
A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan. She asked the class, 'If you saw a
person lying on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?' A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed
silence, 'I think I'd throw up.'
DID NOAH FISH?
A Sunday school teacher asked, 'Johnny, do you think Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark ? ''No,' replied Johnny. 'How could he, with just two worms.'
HIGHER POWER
A Sunday school teacher said to her children, 'We have been learning how powerful kings and queens were in Bible
times. But, there is a Higher Power. Can anybody tell me what it is? One child blurted out, ' Aces!'
SAY A PRAYER
Little Johnny and his family were having Sunday dinner at his Grandmother's house. Everyone was seated around
the table as the food was being served. When Little
Johnny received his plate, he started eating right
away.
'Johnny! Please wait until we say our prayer.' said
his mother.
'I don't need to,' the boy replied.
'Of course, you do.' his mother insisted. 'We always
say a prayer before eating at our house.'
'That's at our house.' Johnny explained. 'But this is
Grandma's house and she knows how to cook!'

Yep… it’s happened once again. Another
unsuspecting guy wanders into an HoH
rehearsal and a few short weeks later, whatta
ya know… he’s an official member.
Joe McCarthy (no not THAT one) is the latest
addition to the Heralds of Harmony … and is
ready to lend his voice and talents to the
awesome bass section we love so much.
We understand that he’s a retired airline
captain. Maybe he can shuttle us all to our
next contest. We’ll get all the board members
to be the flight attendants!
Seriously… WELCOME, JOE! It’s great to
have you on the HoH risers.
There were lots of very clever entries this week (imagine that…
cleverness from barbershoppers…. Hmmm).
But the best one… the winning submission came from
SPENCE AUTRY -
“I said I wanted a brand NEW baby…
not a brand NAME baby!

folks at Mariner Church in Spring Hill. The two shows were filled with
delightful people who truly love barbershop music and those who sing
it. Here are just a handful of photos from that great day.

Have you entered the
world of PODCASTS yet?
It’s just one more very
cool aspect to life on the great big
Internet.
Podcasts are playable/downloadable
broadcasts of various topics and subjects
that are usable on your personal
computer or can even been placed on a
portable media player (like an Ipod).
Some very savvy barbershoppers up
north have begun producing a very good
quality program called HARMOCAST.
It’s free and the first 10 broadcasts can be
found at the link below. So...take a
listen… learn and enjoy!
