GDL!have!recently!completed!the!contract!to!manufacture!and!install!the!
external!weather!Louvres!at!the!prestigious!Chetham’s!School!of!Music!based!!
in!Manchester!alongside!Main!Contractor,!Sir!Robert!McAlpine!Ltd.!This!newly!
constructed!sixFstorey!building!is!the!largest!music!school!in!the!UK!and!the!only!
music!facility!of!its!kind!based!in!the!North!of!England.!

This!state!of!the!art,!iconic!music!facility!designed!by!Manchester!based!Roger!
Stephenson!Architects!was!designed!to!compliment!its!surrounding!environment!
whilst!providing!a!unique!learning!platform!for!the!students.!Cutting!edge!
construction!techniques!such!as!high!level!acoustic!protection!are!in!operation!
throughout!the!music!and!academic!facilities.!Our!external!weather!louvers,!
manufactured!to!meet!the!bespoke!design!criteria,!are!positioned!on!the!façade!
of!the!building!allowing!excellent!air!flow!performance!and!rain!defence.!!
