Last Day of
School Dismissal
at 11:30am
It’s hard to believe that May Day is tomorrow. Plus, it is that
time of year when the days get longer, the weather gets
warmer, and the grass needs mowing. It is also when we say
good-bye to some of our Manchester staff. Kathy Hays will be
retiring at the end of the school year, and Hallie Burger is
getting married and moving to Arizona. We wish them the best
in their new adventures!
I continued to be amazed by the high level of parent support
and involvement at Manchester. What a gift to be at a school
where the parents take this responsibility to the highest level.
Please consider joining us on May 9th in the media center for
our Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at 7:45a.m.
Between now and May 23rd, we have much to accomplish, and
the challenge of remaining focused on learning is before both
the students and the staff. Whether it’s the first month of the
school year or the last month, our mission and focus needs to
remain constant. I’ve been grateful for all of your support and
your willingness to be involved in your children’s education this
year, and I especially appreciate it during the last month.
It’s been an amazing school year, and I will definitely miss the
students over the next couple of months. I’m sure you’ll enjoy
this extra time as a family this summer. As always, you are
welcome to stop in to visit with me or give me a call at
402-289-2590 about any questions, comments and/or
concerns.
See you in August!
Amy Christ

Dedication Library Program
The purpose of the dedication program is to fill our library with books that will enrich our students. With a
donation of $16.00 a library issue hardcover book will be purchased and a bookplate honoring the occasion
will be placed on the inside cover. The book will become a permanent addition to our library collection.
Books
will be pre-selected from age appropriate wish lists. Books can be dedicated for a variety of reasons-for
example, birthdays, to wish good luck, holidays or to show a teacher or a staff member your appreciation.
Make someone feel extra special by dedicating a book to him/her.
Birthday Books
A bookplate will reflect the birthday of the child and the new book will be presented to your child/honoree on
or near the date you choose so that he or she enjoys the excitement of being the first person to check out
the
new library book.
Dedication Books
A bookplate will reflect the donation and the new book will be added to the shelves for student circulation.
The donor will be notified which book was added to our collection.
To dedicate a book please return the completed form below to the school office a minimum of 2 weeks prior
to
the commemoration date. Checks should be made payable to Manchester in the amount of $16.00 per
book.

Way to go Manchester D.I.!
Destination Imagination (DI) is a problem solving activity in which students show their
knowledge, creativity, and teamwork as they work together to provide solutions to various
challenges. Four Manchester teams competed at a regional competition at Plattsmouth High
School this spring. Three teams competed in the “Coming Attractions” challenge and made us
proud by coming in first, second, and third place for our region! They all went on to compete
at the state competition in Kearney. One team competed in the challenge called, “Some
Assembly Required.” This team earned first place at the regional competition and 2nd place at
the state competition. What an accomplishment! We would like to recognize the following
students for their hard work and outstanding achievements.
