®
CPE
A multipurpose, flexible silicone crosspolymer base that delivers premium quality
with a luxurious and lasting, silky after-feel. Gelaid® CPE delivers both a water and
micronized silicone polymer to the skin surface. As the microemulsion breaks on
the skin, the silicone polymer droplets coalesce to form a soft, flexible film, sealing in
the hydrating moisture. Gelaid® CPE provides stable, elegant emulsions by simply
adding water and other desired actives for skin care and sun care, as well as
creates clear, silicone, and water refractive index products such as hair styling gels.
Gelaid® CPE is used in a cold process, so it protects heat-sensitive ingredients while
saving formulation time and energy costs.

Preparation procedure
1 Charge aqua and glycerin into mixing vessel.
Mix until system is completely clear and uniform.
2 Add Gelaid® CPE and mix until the gel is formed
and uniform.
3 Add Butylene glycol and mix until uniform.
4 Add one by one dyes, fragrance, and
preservative, mixing after each addition to give
a homogeneous system.

5 Add Macadamia shell, mixing very slowly to incorporate
the shells without incorporating too much air.
6 Add Activsoft MS100, mixing very slowly without
incorporating too much air.
7 Leave the bulk 15 to 30 minutes to allow the beads
of Sodium Polyacrylate to swell.

1 Charge aqua into mixing vessel. With rapid but
smooth agitation, slowly sift in polyquaternium-10.
Mix until system is completely clear and uniform.
2 With smooth agitation, slowly blend Iselux® Ultra
Mild into the water system. Mix until the system
is completely clear and uniform.
3 Add fragrance and mix until uniform.
4 If necessary, adjust viscosity to 2000-3000 cps
with incremental additions of Citric Acid (50% Aq.)
as needed. As the pH is reduced, the corresponding
viscosity will increase.
5 Blend in compatible preservative, dye(s).

this highly concentrated taurate surfactant provides exceptional qualities,
including foaming and flash foams that create large, lacey bubbles. It’s
sulfate-free, naturally derived from coconut, and can be used as a primary

Preparation procedure
1 Slowly add Carbopol Silk 100 to vortex of aqua
with moderate shear to disperse powder.
2 Make up to volume by adding aqua in B and
heating to 45oC.
3 Add ingredients in B sequentially and mix until fully
dissolved and clear.
4 Remove from heat and adjust pH to 6.5-7.0 with
NaOH 25%w/w.
5 Add D and mix until uniform.
6 Slowly add Tego Betain F50 and mix until uniform.
7 In separate vessel, disperse Activsoft C-17 by slowly
adding to aqua with stirring. When completely
dispersed, add trace amount of citric acid to clear
and swell polymer (F).
8 Slowly add phase F to main system and mix until uniform.
9 Add fragrance and preservatives in G and mix until uniform.
10 Adjust pH to 4.5-5.0 with 50%w/w citric acid.
