Page 4 Fixed Stock Installation Fixed Butt Stock CARBON FIBER STOCK Description: The Lancer Carbon Fiber Stock (LCS) is a lightweight fixed stock for 5.56mm and 7.62mm AR style rifles that uses a fixed rifle length buffer tube (not included). Applying our expertise in advanced materials and product design, we’ve combined high strength carbon-fiber and impact resistant injection molded polymer components to create a robust, lightweight buttstock. The carbon-fiber tube has a custom profile that provides strength and a comfortable cheek weld. The butt plate and front collar are injection molded from a specially formulated impact resistant polymer. PART NUMBER LCS-A1-R LCS-A2-R DESCRIPTION Carbon Fixed Stock - A1 Length Carbon Fixed Stock - A2 Length Page 5 LENGTH WEIGHT 10.25” 9.4 oz 10.8” 10.4 oz Tool Box: If your rifle already has a “rifle” stock, buffer, buffer tube and buffer spring, all you will need is a: Flat blade screw driver AR lower receiver vise block If your rifle/carbine has a mil-spec collapsible stock you will need to purchase separately a rifle buffer, buffer tube and buffer spring. Page 6 Rifle length stock disassembly 1. Conduct a clearing procedure to ensure the rifle is clear, safe and empty. 2. Field strip the rifle. Separate the upper and lower receivers and place the lower receiver on a lower receiver vice block 3. Using a flat blade screw driver, remove the top screw of the butt stock located on the rear of the stock plate. CAUTION 4. Slide off the stock and spacer ensuring not to lose the take-down pin detent and spring which will appear on the lower right side of the lower receiver as the stock is withdrawn. Page 7 Fixed stock assembly 1. Assemble the three parts of the fixed stock into one piece. 2. Slide the assemblage over the buffer tube. CAUTION 3. Align the front piece of the stock with the rear of the lower receiver and put pressure on the rear takedown detent spring. Be careful not to bend or crush the spring. 4. Seat the stock assemblage against the lower receiver and hold in place. Page 8 5. Insert retaining screw then tighten. Fixed stock is assembled Function check of the stock: • • • • • • • Try to twist the stock Try to pull the stock off the lower receiver Pull out the rear take-down pin to the right and ensure it is locked in by the detent Attach the upper receiver to the lower Assemble all components of the rifle Remove the rifle from the vice block Rifle is ready for field testing Page 9 Collapsible mil spec carbine stock replacement If your rifle/carbine has a mil spec collapsible stock you will need to purchase separately a rifle buffer, buffer tube and buffer spring. Parts required before you begin. Tool Box: 1/8 inch, broad pin punches front pivot pin, buffer detent, takedown pin Screw driver, flat blade, long shank (grip screw) Buffer tube retaining castle nut spanner wrench AR lower receiver vise block Torque wrench AR barrel nut wrench Page 10 Collapsible stock disassembly 1. Conduct a clearing procedure to ensure the rifle is clear, safe and empty. 2. Field strip the rifle, separate the upper receiver from the lower and place the lower receiver on a vice block. 3. While pulling down on the lock release lever, pull the butt stock to the rear and remove it from the buffer tube. 4. Depress the buffer retaining plunger (with your finger, thumb or punch) and remove the buffer and spring from the buffer tube. Page 11 5. Hold the hammer down and pull the buffer and buffer spring completely out of the buffer tube. 6. Using a spanner wrench, loosen the buffer tube locking nut. 7. Holding the receiver endplate,(which encloses the rear assembly pin helical spring and detent) carefully back off the buffer tube locking nut. (NOTE: this helical spring and detent holds the rear assembly pin into the receiver) 8. Slowly relieve pressure on the receiver endplate, which will release the spring tension on the rear assembly pin spring and detent. Be careful not to lose the spring or detent. Page 12 9. Carefully rotate the receiver endplate counterclockwise just enough to expose the rear assembly pin spring. 10. Remove the rear assembly pin spring and detent from the receiver. 11. Remove the rear assembly pin. Page 13 12. While maintaining pressure on the buffer retaining plunger, unscrew the buffer tube from the receiver. 13. Remove the buffer retaining plunger and spring from the receiver. Collapsible stock assembly has been removed from the lower receiver. Page 14 Fixed stock assembly 1. Begin to thread the rifle length buffer tube onto the lower receiver. 2. Insert buffer detent and spring 3. Holding down the detent, continue to thread the buffer tube onto the lower receiver. 4. Hand tighten the buffer tube against the lower receiver. Page 15 5. Using the buffer tube castle nut spanner wrench, tighten the buffer tube. NOTE: An AR barrel nut wrench attached to a torque wrench may be used to torque the tube to 35 – 39 ft lbs. 6. Insert the rear take-down pin and then insert the rear take-down pin detent and spring. 7. Slide the three-part fixed stock assemblage over the buffer tube. 8. Align stock with the rear of the lower receiver and against the detent spring. Page 16 9. Seat the stock against the lower receiver ensuring the detent spring is not bent or crushed and hold in place. 10. Insert the retaining screw and hand tighten. 11. Tighten with a flat blade screw driver. Fixed stock is assembled Function check of the stock: • • • • • • • Try to twist the stock Try to pull the stock off the lower receiver Pull out the rear take-down pin to the right and ensure it is locked in by the detent Attach the upper receiver to the lower Assemble all components of the rifle Remove the rifle from the vice block Rifle is ready for field testing Page 17
