September 8 - Depart Toronto to Lamezia
September 9 - Lamezia Terme - Tropea (D) (5 nights)
Arrive in Lamezia, transfer to hotel. Rest of day free.
September 10 - Reggio Calabria - Scilla (B,L)
Visit of one of the most important cities of Calabria, featuring its Cathedral
and the Archaeological Museum. Free time for a walk on the most beautiful
Kilometer of Italy (as it was defined by Gabriele D'Annunzio). Continue to
Scilla - stands on a promontory dominated by the castle of the Ruffo which
divides the town into two parts. After lunch, return to the hotel.
September 11 - Tropea free day (B)
September 12 - Tropea free day (B)
September 13 - Diamante "Hot Pepper Festival" (B,L,D)
Transfer to Diamante. After lunch, you are free to visit the stands dedicated
to the queen of the festival. Dancing and singing is on every corner in
celebration of the festival. Return to the hotel for dinner.
September 14 - Altomonte (B,L) (4 nights)
Guided tour of winery with lunch at the Barbieri Altomonte.
Afternoon free.
September 15 - Altomonte - San Donato di Ninea (B,L,D)
View the beautiful countryside as we travel to San Donato di Ninea. The
village is small but very welcoming with wonderful views of the peaks of the
Pollino National Park. A visit to the Mother Church Holy Trinity, Church of the
Assumption, the beautiful caves of Sant 'Angelo. Enjoy a boxed lunch while
we transfer to San Sosti. This afternoon we visit Madonna del Pettoruto. Our
spectacular dinner is at Colle del Sogni this evening with traditional Calabrese
dances.
September 16 - Altomonte - Civita - Morano Calabro (B,L,D)
Enjoy breakfast, transfer to Civita in the Pollino National Park (second largest
National Park in Italy). This is one of the historical Albanian communities of
Italian- Albanians (Arbëreshë). The country is referred to as the Devil's Bridge,
its landscapes are considered among the most beautiful of Calabria. Lunch at
the La Locanda del Parco. After Lunch visit Morano Calabro and other
surrounding sites. Return to Altomonte for a walking tour and dinner at the
Cantina Barbieri with folk music.

September 17 - Altomonte / Rossano and Archaeological Park of Sibari
(B,L)
Depart for Rossano Calabro. Visit St Mark’s Church, considered one of the most
important churches of Byzantine origin and the Diocesan Museum. After lunch,
visit the Licorice factory, the Archaeological Park of Sibari and the lakes.
September 18 - Altomonte / Caserta Reggia / Pompeii / Naples (B,L,D)
(2 nights)
Transfer to the Royal Palace of Caserta, a historical house which
belonged to the Bourbons of Naples, declared a World Heritage site by
UNESCO. Located in the town of Caserta, surrounded by a large park including
the Italian garden, where there are several fountains and the famous Great
Waterfall, and the landscaped garden, characterized by thick forests. The Royal
Palace is the largest royal residence in the world. After enjoying a boxed lunch,
we depart for Naples, stopping at the historic ruins of Pompeii. Explore Pompeii
on your own or take a guided tour of the ruins ($35 CAD per person).
September 19 - Naples (B,L)
Visit the city of Naples (historical center of Piazza Dante) including the
Royal Palace. After lunch the afternoon we visit the town of Sorrento
(Amalfi Coast).
September 20 - Naples / Capri / Rome (B,L) (3 nights)
Transfer to the port for the ferry to Capri. Tour of the island with a stop at the
Blue Grotto. After lunch at the restaurant of the Piazzetta, we depart for Rome.
September 21 - Rome (B,D)
Today we visit the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel - the masterpiece by
Michelangelo, and the Basilica of St. Peter.
September 22 - Rome (B,D)
Free day, with dinner at the hotel.
September 23- Rome to Toronto (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for return home.
