Last day of term 2
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This morning at assembly, 2/3 W and 4O students treated us to a
delightful rendition of “Lest We Forget” to help commemorate ANZAC
day. Our P-2 classes participated in a variety of activities last Friday
including making some delicious ANZAC biscuits. We also had a large
contingency of students attend and participate in community services at
different locations yesterday. Congratulations to Chloe Leadbeater and
Bailey Kingston who participated in the Lakes Entrance Service and laid
a wreath on behalf of the TAPS community.
Well done everyone.
The generosity of our community never ceases to amaze me. For
example in the last we have had parents volunteer to wash our sports
tops, donate pumpkins for tomorrows healthy lunch launch, source
basketball coaches, get donations for our garden shed development,
continue to assist in classrooms for special occasions like the P-2
ANZAC activities and reading circles on a weekly basis.
School
councillors who continue to contribute to our school governance and our
parents and friends group are working tirelessly behind the scenes on
the next fundraising venture. We are extremely grateful of your time
and effort and it all goes together to make our school a vibrant,
energetic place to be. Have a super week, Kerry Hughes.

We will be having our school photos in a couple of weeks so there is plenty of time to have the hair done!
Photo order envelopes will be handed out to students today. There is one envelope per child. If you would like a
family portrait taken the price is $20 and special envelopes are available at the office.
Please note that all orders are PREPAID and money must be returned on or before the day of the photos.

School Council Working Bee-Sunday 1st May 8.00-12.00 followed by a BBQ
We have a number of jobs around the grounds that we are hoping we can achieve at a working
bee this Sunday.
 Reconfiguring the playground border – need shovels
 Mulching under the play equipment – need wheelbarrows, rakes
 Painting the outdoor tables and chairs – brushes and paint supplied
 Construction of raised garden beds - put together, then shovels for gravel and dirt
 Establish a chook enclosure – need people who can construct a fence preferably
with a gate, fox proof the fence and roof
 Some pruning and staking of trees – need secateurs and garden stakes, rubbish
removal
This is a great way to get involved with our school and a chance to meet other school community members.
It would be great to see some new faces as the more people who come along, the more we will achieve for
our kids.
Nexus ARTS Performance this week is WALA
When the power of percussion meets dazzling
vocal harmony in the dance of life.
A dynamic fusion of drumming, dance, percussion and
soaring vocal harmonies. Three passionate, exuberant
and talented performers present audiences with an
exciting display of Ghanaian culture.
With 15 hand-made African drums, flutes and stunning
costumes, WALA engage their audiences in a call and
response song, invite them to try out different
instruments and to join in the dance. Their enthusiasm is
utterly contagious as they rejoice in the live sounds and
rich heritage of their people.WALA means “life” in their
local language and the perfection of the name becomes
clear as they explode into their breathtaking celebration
of the Ghanaian Spirit.

which brings together their research they have been doing over the last two weeks. This is a small

written in first person so that when they present to their peers it is their Australian Great speaking! This
project is due on Monday 2nd of May.

about double the size of a shoe box or larger would be suitable. The students can bring the boxes into
