Grede’s Novocast foundry
in Mexico is among John
Deere’s 16 best suppliers to
win a Deere award for quality and on-time delivery.

Grede Encourages Ties With Educational
Institutions, Military Veterans
To help employees improve
their skills and to spur
interest in metal casting
careers, Grede has established a variety of ties with
high schools, colleges and
universities. Its facilities also
are hiring military veterans.
Grede’s support includes
scholarships, cash, equipment donations, student
internships, participation in
career fairs and foundry visits for students and faculty
members.
Here are a few examples
of Grede’s Commitment:
The Browntown, WI, facility,
has collaborated with the
Blackhawk Technical Col-
lege in Monroe to establish
a training program for its
skilled labor employees. The
Reedsburg, WI, foundry has
donated new welding jackets and helmets as well as
cash to the local high school
Industrial Arts Department.
At New Castle, IN, Grede
works with local colleges
to promote engineering
and machine maintenance
criteria.
In Alabama, the company
has endowments at Auburn
University and the University of Alabama. At Grede’s
original Liberty Foundry in
Milwaukee, a class of 31
students from the University
of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
recently toured the facility
to study the processes and
technology used in modern
production and to meet
one-on-one with experts on
Grede’s staff.
Grede also is actively
involved in the new “Get
Skills to Work” program that
aims to connect veterans to
careers in manufacturing.
The St. Cloud, MN, foundry
has established an endowment at the University of
Northern Iowa for scholarships in the metal casting
degree program.
Doug Grimm Elected OESA Chairman
Larry Meeske of Deere said
Mexico is one of Deere’s
highest performing global
units and they will continue
growing in Mexico and in
the world giving more business to their good suppliers.
Doug Grimm, chairman,
president and CEO of Grede
Holdings LLC, has been
elected board chairman of
the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA)
for the 2013-2014 term.
OESA, formed in 1998, has
450 member automotive
suppliers with global sales
exceeding $300 billion.
“We are thrilled to have
someone with Doug’s
knowledge and enthusiasm
serving as chairman,” said
Julie Fream, OESA president and CEO. “I am honored and humbled to lead
such a prestigious organization,” said Grimm.

The Grede Industrial Sales Team attended the Power-Generation Conference in Orlando, FL, November 12th through
November 15th. The goal for this event was to develop new
customers in the Industrial sector of our business. We feel
that industrial products and associated volumes fall into the
“sweet-spot” of our low-to-medium volume divisions like
Berlin, Bessemer, Biscoe, Browntown and Teknik. It was a
great event and the team was able to secure contacts for
many potential new customers.
Grede was well represented at the Guadalajara truck show,
Expotransporte 2013, in mid-November. The show attracted 300 exhibitors, including numerous Grede customers,
and 29,000 visitors. Grede personnel held meetings with
Accuride, Sisamex, Daimler and Navistar.
