fundraising, partnerships and special events
Women's Community House shelter services would
not be possible without our donors' continued
support and partnerships. From the corporations to
the small businesses, to the individual donors who
believe that one person at a time can make a
difference, for all you do, to all of you – Women's
Community House thanks you so very much.
Financial gifts help children succeed, build stronger
families, promote the message of courage and
independence, and provide a safety net for women
in crisis.
Thank you for recognizing the courage of victims
and survivors in coming forward and the dangers
they face.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®
On September 14, 2008 over 100 area men
answered the question “Are you man enough?”
Men were challenged to collect pledges and then
walk one mile around Victoria Park in downtown
London in red high heels to draw attention to
violence against women and children and to
raise money for Women’s Community House.
In 2001, the city of Van Nuys, California started
the symbolic gesture of men marching in female
footwear to better understand the experience
of women.
Today an ever increasing number of walks have
raised awareness and money for women’s shelters
and rape crisis centers across North America.
The second annual London Walk a Mile in
Her Shoes® will be on September 20, 2009.
