Local Authors highlighted – in response to a notable increase in writers on Long Island, we have created a “Local Authors” Collection, which includes Sayville and Long Island authors. Corby Jr. Expanding e-books service – Our popular e-book download service welcomes the 3M product line bringing authors from Penguin Publishing to our digital collection. This service is compatible with Androids, Apple and Nook devices (unfortunately the list does NOT include Amazon Kindle). Literati: a new research interface – are you looking for research sources, but puzzled about where to start? The answer is Literati, available from the library’s webpage – http://sayvillelibrary.org. Literati will search over 600 reference books related to your topic, as well as the library’s catalog and journal databases. All this available with your library card! Registration begins Tuesday, October 1. Congratulations Battle of the Books Team! Sayville Library’s Battle Team competed against 41 other libraries this year. Dressed as Toy Story characters and calling themselves “Sayville’s Toy Box”, the team answered the most correct questions in each round of the evening competition, placing fifth out of 12. Overall, they came in 14th out of 41, a great achievement! They also earned the Creative Uniform Award in their division! You may register your child in person or by phone after 10:00 AM at 589-4440, dial 5, but to ensure enrollment in the program you want, we recommend signing up on the first day of registration. All programs are age appropriate, so please abide by the age and grade restrictions for each program.
