The second annual Joplin Polar Bear Plunge
was a splashing success! The Plunge broke
plunger records! This year’s plunge hosted 95
brave men and women making it the highest
plunger turnout! Thank you to all those who
came out to support Special Olympics Missouri.
This year’s event was hosted by Joplin
Police Department and the Carthage Police
Department. The Polar Bear Plunge is one of
many events hosted by law enforcement to
benefit their charity of choice, Special Olympics
Missouri.

A total of 49 people registered online for this year’s Plunge.
They raised $4,027 online from friends and family. The
online effort really helped to get funds from a different
group of supporters and to get the money in prior to the
