Hands-on Activities: $3 each • Printmaking, Pop-up Books, Beading, Clay, Stained Glass, Fiesta Crowns and more! At least one adult is required to stay with their children while they are at the activities tables. Please no alcoholic beverages or smoking in the Children’s Art Garden. Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree The Southwest School of Art is Texas’ only independent college of art. The four-year BFA degree program centers on the process of making as a form of inquiry and discovery, and includes courses in business, psychology, science, math, litera ture, and history. Community Art Classes are for all ages, from teens to seniors, and skill ranges from beginner to professional. We offer short courses and multi-week courses, during the day, evenings, and weekends. Programs for young artists include, with more than 100 week-long classes for ages 5 – 18; Teen Studio Intensive, an afterschool program for middle and high school students; and Saturday Morning Discovery, a free introductory art program for young children. Historic Preservation The Ursuline Campus — where you are now — comprises the award-winning historic grounds of the former Ursuline Convent and Academy, established in 1851 as San Antonio’s first school for girls and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
