From the Noble Grand
My Brothers,
I’m understanding how fast life goes by. We
are already more than half way through 2013. I wish to
thank my support team, I really do get “left and right scene
supporter”. Thank you for your help during my May &
June absences.
I’ve just come from a family get together where
Dad has passed on and kid’s kids have kids. My cousins
(2) and I were the elders. A first for me.
Camping on Cypress was certainly one of the
better times. I really liked the morning sun on the beach.
I really did not like the boat wreck. Last week though, I
went over to Four Winds and spent the morning with my
friend Rick and did the repairs.
I know its summer, but please attend on
Wednesdays. Odd Fellows does take some effort. Fight
the inertia. Come on down and enjoy the sunset with us.

FROM THE SECRETARY
Looking Out For Ourselves
Inspired by a conversation brothers had on the
Cypress island beach, we will devote several upcoming
meetings to the subject of our island community and how
we might help influence its health facing an increasingly
uncertain future.
Lets start this exploration into our common future
and see where it takes us. I’ll begin with a look at improving
our capacity to address island issues, for instance, who is
responsible for rebuilding the Exchange?
Beyond Initiation
Another series of meetings starting in October
will focus on Odd Fellowship itself. Many brothers may
be unfamiliar with the organizational requirements of a
well functioning lodge and the ongoing need for active
member participation to insure its viability. This includes
the willingness to qualify for and serve as its elected officers.
These meetings will explore all things Oddfellows should
know.
