THE LEGACY Felipe Lopez: CTX Programing Chair October 2015 “MGC welcomes any new ideas, traditions, and backgrounds to further the idea of multiculturalism.” -Greg Regino UIW Founder Breaking Barriers This Brotherhood was founded in order to provide, to ANY man, a diverse fraternal experience, which coincides with a higher education….University of Incarnate Word Colony breaks barriers as not only through a founders process but successfully establishing a Multicultural Council on campus. They are the first and only MGC members on campus EVER and are optimistic in creating opportunities for those who are ready to stand out. UIW’s Greek Life operated with Interfraternity Executive Council and a Panhellenic Councils but the 7 founding member of UIW Colony had a vision for change. Junior Greg Regino commented in saying “binging on MGC was a must mainly because of what our fraternity stands fo offering a brotherhood to any man of any race or any culture.” Omega Delta Phi continues to grow within our region and we continue to make marks within our existing hosting schools. Our brothers are one to never give up nor let barriers prevent them from achieving success. Representing the Undergrad Kenny Anderson considers himself a modest small town guy with the drive and ambition to see other grow and prosper. He started in ODPhi career at the Texas A&M University-Kingsville then transferred to the Island of Texas A&M UniversityCorpus Christi. Kenny is currently the Central Texas Undergrad Representative. He is currently only his second year term with the CTX Board and has no plans on stopping. From a recent text interview with Kenny I asked the following questions: Q: What does your position do? “My potion is really dictated by the needs and concerns of the undergrads. It is not so much about telling them what to do but rather what option they have to choose form to ensure the best outcome. Q: What are your plans for the next year? With the improvement of the new board. I would like to span the gap as far as communication between the northern and southern areas of the region. As well bring transparency and trust to the relationship between the entities and the regional board. Q: If one thing could be done of the betterment of our region what would that one thing be? Transpiring our entities rather than just numbers on a piece of paper. Rather speaking to entities at times of duress, we need to also be there in times of success and prove to them we are invested in them. Q: If lost the election at Regionals; what advice would you give our new undergrad rep? Be proactive, do not wait to be contacted. It is something I learned my first term. You really want to go out of your way to contact them. *Elections for our undergraduate representative will be voted by the region at Regional conference in Laredo, TX.
