Send us your requirements, and let us use our business knowledge and technical expertise to find the best solution for your needs. 3 TEST CENTER At our test center in Switzerland we have a range of systems ready for processing trials using your sample parts of thermoset or metal. To gain a better understanding of what is needed, we start by performing a standard processing of the workpieces. This shows us which blasting system and system components and peripheral devices are best for this purpose. We continue performing trials until the right combination of blast and processing tools for the most cost–effective solution has been found. This enables us to develop customized system solutions and processing workflows tailored your individual needs. CONSULATION AND SUPPORT The manufacturing of thermoset components must take into consideration the port/production processing – deflashing – already in the production phase. In the manufacturing process, it’s possible to avoid parting lines, whose burrs are either impossible to remove or leave visible scars. Consultation and close cooperation with the part and tool design engineers is therefore essential. Parts that can’t be completely deflashed automatically lead to post-processing costs out of proportion with the actual manufacturing costs. Sales team QUALITY / SERVICE After they have been completed, the deflashing systems undergo extensive testing in our plant. As standard practice, we use the same customer parts as were used for the initial tests. Ideally, the customer is on/site during the tests, to view for themselves the exceptional quality of their new deflashing system. During this visit, plans for the system’s transport and installation are discussed. Our experienced installation and process engineers stand ready to handle the installation and commissioning, and provide training. They are also responsible for the subsequent service and maintenance. Our machines conform to all relevant requirements of the EU Directive for machinery (2006/42/EC). Service team 4 Process Engineering Deflashing Machines BLAST WHEEL TECHNOLOGY Efficient deflashing requires extreme acceleration of the blast media. To achieve this, Rösler uses blast wheel technology. Blades mounted on the blast wheel capture and transport the blast media, using centrifugal force to swiftly propel the media. The blast wheels are characterized by their low energy consumption and high degree of coverage. Coverage (hotspot) produced by blast wheels in comparison to blast guns. NOZZLE TECHNOLOGY Blasting guns are used in applications requiring an intense, focused deflashing, or where a minimum quantity of blast media is sufficient. Used in combination with blast wheels, blast guns are ideal for deflashing difficult to reach areas on the parts (such as holes). Four-Stage Processing of the Blast Media The entire volume of blast media circulates in a closed loop. In the first step, air, dust and fine particles are suctioned from the blasting chamber. In the second step, a vacuum causes the consumed blast media, burrs and fibers to fall onto the multi-stage screening unit. Here, the debris is filtered from the blast media in circulation. In step three, the residual blast media moves to the cascade separator. A cascade separator is used to ensure a consistently high quality of blast media. Spent blast media and any residual debris are removed from circulation here, and the resulting clean blast media moves on the blast media’s replenishment hopper. In step four, an optional sensor automatically handles replenishment of the blast media and ensures that the spent blast media is continuously replaced by new to ensure that an adequate amount is in circulation. Cascade separator with cyclone Screening unit Blast media replenishment Workpiece cleaning and dust extraction 5 CLEANING AND QUALITY OF THE WORKPIECES The cleaning and blow-off of the parts occurs after the processing and is specially configured for that type of part. To prevent statically charged dust deposits from adhering to the parts and being difficult to remove, every machine is equipped with a anti-static fluid spray system. The anti-static fluid, held in a supply reservoir, is emitted through a nozzle. Although the water/anti-static fluid can be manually mixed, an automatic metering unit is also available. The mix ratio can be set using the control panel. This action transports the reusable blast media back into the loop (see also Blast Media Recovery). These are automatically cleaned at regular intervals during normal operations, thereby ensuring 24x7 continuous operations. Typical applications: Switch housings and covers for electrical components Housings for circuit breakers and contactors Pan handles Ashtrays Camshafts TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION The parts are transported via a conveyor belt and a vibrating trough to the deflashing system’s loop belt. The spe- cialized rubber loop belt is equipped with lugs and acts as a screw conveyor, thereby ensuring smooth transport at a pre-defined speed within the blasting zone. The parts are deflashed via blast wheels mounted on the roof of the blasting chamber, above the conveyor belt. After the parts have been deflashed, they move to an integrated cleaning drum that tumbles the parts to remove any residual blast media adhering to the parts. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION The tunnel transport system carries the fragile components, successively, at a preset speed through the deflashing zone, tumbling them continuously. The tunnel is equipped inside with polyurethane elements to ensure the pieces are deflashed on all sides and emerge undamaged. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION The pieces to be deflashed are placed on the wire mesh conveyor either manually or via a handling device. The conveyor then transports the pieces between the blast wheels in the blasting chamber. Afterwards, the pieces move through the blow-off zone, where any remaining blast media adhering to the pieces is blown off. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION Two blast wheels located above and two below the transport belt ensure intensive and uniform treatment. In the SAB 470 (in contrast to the small, compact conveyor machine) a bucket elevator moves the blast media to a cascade separator located above the blast wheels. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION In a dual-step operation involving a swing table, the molded components are deflashed either individually or in groups of two on opposite satellites. While one of the satellites is being loaded or unloaded, the components on the other satellite are being deflashed. The modular system enables different configurations to suit individual requirements. The deflashing machine can be seamlessly and reliably integrated into a manufacturing cell. For this reason, the SAS series is based on a modular system that delivers an economical solution that allows both manual feed, as well as semi automatic or fully automatic, robotic operation. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION At the loading/unloading station, the blasted workpieces are removed from the workpiece mountings, and replaced with unblasted workpieces. Indexing of the satellites allows the workpieces to move through the various workstations: loading/unloading, infeed gate, blast positions, blow-off position/outlet gate. In the linear operation, the nozzle movement devices move vertically and horizontally, thereby enhancing the machine’s degree of automation and ensuring a focused blasting of the workpieces. The lead frames are loaded continuously on the machine’s conveyor belt, which transports them through the blasting chamber equipped with injector nozzles on both sides. Cams located on the conveyor belt prevent the workpieces from slipping. Next, the lead frames move through a blow-off zone in which air nozzles remove any blast media still adhering to the workpieces. The Series RMT 3 multi-tumbler is designed for bulk processing of small components having a minimum size of 2.5 mm. However, this machine is also capable of efficiently and economically handling larger, non-fragile workpieces. Mul-titumbler machines are wellsuited for use as stand alone systems as well as integrated with fully-automatic systems with loading/unloading equipment, which can be obtained from us.
