he TED worldwide award is one of the world’s biggest teddy bear contests. Hosted by Christine Spies,
organizer of one of the biggest teddybear fairs in the world, Teddybär Welt in Wiesbaden, it is a truly international competition: with participants from all five continents, an independent jury from different countries and last but not least many thousands of bear loving voters from about 50 countries around the world.

Application
Contest Rules
TED worldwide offers: Three appropriate
entry classes for every level.
There are three ways to submit your
application:

Fill out the application form online on the homepage
www.teddybaer-welt.de.
HOBBYIST
Hobby teddy bear makers who have been making bears
not any longer than two years and who do not sell their
bears on a commercial basis. Applicants who have taken
part two times as hobbyist can not compete again as hobbyist and have to enrol in another class. Hobbyists choose
between two categories, dressed and undressed teddy
bears bears (category D and E).
II ARTIST
Teddy bear artists who have been making bears for at least
two years or who sell their bears on a commercial basis.
Artists can apply in every category A to H.
III MASTERCLASS
Teddy bear artists who have been nominated in the artist
class in two years have to enrol in the Masterclass.
Masterclass candidates can apply in every category A to H.
To do justice to the many ideas of today we
have selected the following categories:
A) MINIATURE TEDDY, UNDRESSED
Up to 5"(12 cm) – A ribbon, collar or muzzle is permitted.
No more additional accessories.
B) MINIATURE TEDDY, DRESSED
Up to 5"(12 cm) – Teddy bears may have two accessories in
addition to their clothes.
C) OLD FASHION TEDDY BEAR, UNDRESSED
The original old fashion form of the teddy bear (up to the
fifties). Material and filling must adjust to the traditional
style. A ribbon, collar or muzzle is permitted. No more additional accessories.
D) TEDDY BEAR, UNDRESSED
Material selection is at your choice. A ribbon, collar or
muzzle is permitted. No more additional accessories.
E) TEDDY BEAR, DRESSED
Material selection is at your choice. Teddy bears may have
two accessories in addition to their clothes.
F) NATURE BEAR
Material choice as naturally as possible. All bears out in the
open are permitted.
G) THE ZOO
Open for all animals, fantasy and fairy tale designs - exept
for bears. Theme groups like fairy tale characters, animal
families or a dragon with his rider are allowed.
H) SUBJECT: BEAR
If you did not find the richtg category by now, then probably this will be the right. Everything with the subject bear like jewellery, clothing, painting, grafics, accessory is
permitted as well as a special equipment of a bear like mechanical items, a musical clock, yes-no-mechanic or similar.

You can pick up the application form as well on many teddybear fairs. Or request it written at Christine Spies, TED
worldwide, Max-Fremery-Str. 3a, 50827 Köln, Germany and
send it back to this address.
Objects which took already part in other contests or have
been presented to the public before BärReport 4-2015
with all nominees is published are not accepted.
One entry - three photos
Every entry shall be judged equal and fair. So please send
three photos of your candidate (in high resolution, paper
4 x 6 inch or 10 x 15 cm, digital 300 dpi) on paper or via EMail to us or upload them directly into the online application form. Please show a front and side view and one close up of the head of the candidate. For category H (Subject:
Bear) one extra photo of the specialities is needed.
Please do not send pictures from your "teddy bear on the
couch".
All photos of the candidates and all photos taken by the
organizer herself during the presentation on Teddybär
Welt are property of the organizer. They can be published
in BärReport and in every publication of the organizers
without any payment.
The Jury
All jury members are known represantatives of the teddy
bear szene. They judge independent by the submitted photos and entry forms. They determine three nominees in
each category. An entry only can be nominated, if it has at
least 50 % of the maximum points. If more than three objects reach the minimum score, those with the most points
will be nominated.
Deadline for all TED worldwide 2015
submissions is 20th August 2014.

Important: The admission form is only
to be filled out in English.
The admission fee for the first entry in artist and masterclass is EUR 32,00. Any further application fees are EUR
22,00 each. For hobbyists the admission fee for the first
entry is EUR 27,00. Any further application fees for hobbyists are EUR 17,00 each. The admission fee is payable by
submitting the application form.
It is only possible to pay by bank transfer, Paypal Payment
(for Paypal users please contact us) or in cash. Cheques and
credit cards will not be accepted.

The award
The TED worldwide trophees will be awarded during the
celebration evening on Saturday, 7th. March (first day of
Teddybär Welt fair), 7.30 pm in Crowne Plaza Hotel,
Wiesbaden. The contest is over after the ceremony. The
evaluation forms of the jury members can be piced up on
Sunday, 8th March after the public award ceremony on
Teddybär Welt (about 4 pm). Otherwise the evaluation
forms can be sendet to the participants.
The public choice
All nominees will be presented in BärReport 4-2014 and on
our Homepage www.teddybaer-welt.de. Then it is up to
all BärReport readers and users to vote for their favorites.
They can vote by the original coupon in BärReport or by
mouse click on www.teddybaer-welt.de. Everyone can only choose once. The winners of the TED worldwide award
will be evaluated from all votings.
Every nominee will be contacted personally. They must
send or bring their creation to Teddybär Welt in Wiesbaden
(for personal delivery: Saturday, 7th March, between 8 and
9.30 am, shipping address: Christine Spies, Max-FremeryStr. 3a, 50827 Köln, Germany, please add the back postage). There it will be presented to the public on a special
platform. The visitors of Teddybär Welt can vote for the audience winner.

I cannot come to Teddybär Welt in Wiesbaden and pick up
