and part of the Baltimore County “Focus on the First Years” initiative,
helping our children start school ready to learn.

Read Together
Big/Little Size Book
Two-year-olds can use size words, like big/little or short/tall.
Try to use books that show mother animals with their babies,
or books with pictures of large and small familiar things. For
example Where’s My Teddy? by Jez Alborough. Big and little
pictures also make a good flannel board game.

Materials needed:
• Paper plates (large and small)
• Construction paper (brown, pink,
cream)
• Scissors
• Paint
• Paintbrush
• Glue or tape
• Googly eyes
Fingerplay
Five Little Bears
Counting up
One little bear
Wondering what to do.
Along came another,
Then there were two!
Two little bears
Climbing up a tree.
Along came another,
Then there were three!

Glue or tape the paper plates together.
Cut arms, legs, ears, belly and face from construction paper.
Glue or tape the construction paper to the paper plates.
Glue googly eyes onto bear’s face.

Found honey in a hive.
