INFO 2014 stockholm.diamondleague.com INFO 2016 STOCKHOLMS STADION 21 AUGUSTI 2014 Stockholm Olympic Stadium 16 June Stockholm Olympic Stadium 16 June 2016 Welcome to the Olympic Stadium of Olympic Stadiums Welcome to BAUHAUS-galan and the 104 year old Stockholm Olympic Stadium. It was built for the games in 1912 and is one of the most famous and loved stadia in the world. It has seen more World Records in Athletics than any other stadium. Hopefully we can have a new one this Olympic year! Athletics is the main sport in the Olympics and we are happy to be able to offer a whole week of athletics activities here in Stockholm. Athletics is popular in Sweden but we still need to promote the sport in order to attract new athletes and fans. During the week we also have the Kids Tour, Youth games, Big Shot and Diamond 1000 and this can only happen thanks to our main partners BAUHAUS and the City of Stockholm. If we can’t have a World Record, the next best thing is a stadium record and following the tradition of the past 20 years we will, of course, award a diamond to anyone who sets a stadium record. We’ve awarded 71 diamonds since 1994. Once again welcome to BAUHAUSgalan, good luck in your event and on your road to Rio in August!
