FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MARCH 9, 2015. ILAPAK INTERNATIONAL S.A. P.O. Box 756 CH-6916 Grancia , Lugano, Switzerland. Christian Romualdi Phone: +41 91 960 5900 Fax: +41 91 960 5992 [email protected] www.ilapak.com PRESS RELEASE ILAPAK DEBUTS ULTRA FAST DOY POUCH MAKER AT ANUGA FOODTEC 2015 At this year’s Anuga Food Tec, ILAPAK, the leading manufacturer of packaging machines for flexible film applications, is unveiling a ground-breaking pouch making machine with a unique dual motion system. The Lux 24 pouch maker will be showcased on ILAPAK’s booth (Hall 7.1, Stand B041), alongside the company’s new Vegatronic 6000 bagger and Weightronic WT 16-10 Slim multihead combination weigher. Lux 24 - a deluxe pouch maker The Lux 24 is the latest innovation to come out of ILAPAK’s dedicated food industry R&D programme. The horizontal pouch maker is the first in the world to offer continuous motion filling, doubling the speeds that can be achieved by its closest rivals. This enables food manufacturers and packers to form flat film stock into high quality stand-up doy packs at speeds that are normally only achievable for lesser quality, more basic bag styles. ILAPAK has achieved this technological breakthrough via the development of a unique dual motion system, comprising an intermittent station for pouch forming and sealing and a continuous station for product filling. The trail-blazing system incorporates five patent-protected features, including an innovative rotary filling carousel. The versatile Lux 24 can be configured with filling solutions for liquids, solids, powders or granular products, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. These span sauces, soups, beverages, candies, cereals and grated cheese, as well as non-food products such as detergents. The doy pouches produced by the Lux 24 can be equipped with spouts, straws or zippers or even fitted with a handle. The key to the machine’s versatility is its open, frameless design, which also makes it accessible from all four sides for cleaning and maintenance. Changeover can be completely executed via the touchscreen, and mounting the electrical cabinet on the top of the unit makes for a very compact footprint. With an increasing number of food products switching from cardboard cartons to flexible packs for secondary packaging, ILAPAK anticipates massive interest from the food industry in the Lux 24. Personnel with in-depth knowledge of food production processes will be on hand at Anuga to discuss how the Lux 24 could be integrated into a real-life workflow to deliver productivity and presentation improvements. Vegatronic 6000 - a versatile vertical bagger As an expert in both the vertical and horizontal packaging spaces, ILAPAK will also be showing its latest advancement in vertical bagging - the Vegatronic 6000. Characterised by unrivalled versatility and access for cleaning, this game-changing piece of kit will be of particular interest to visitors looking for an easy-to-clean bagger that can pack their product into a variety of vertical styles. The continuous motion bagger can pack both dry and wet products into pillow, block bottom, Quattro, EasyPack and doy style formats with fast and tool-less changeover. The innovative film carriage design enables packs of up to 280mm in width (680mm for Quattro bags) to be produced. Access is facilitated by the machine’s open frame design, clean film carriage and mounting of the forming tube on a swivel arm for easy removal. The new ETHERCAT electronic platform allows the machine to run in box motion mode when longer sealing time and higher sealing pressure are required or match the performance of a rotary jaw machine when speed is of the essence. Dedicated multihead offering One of the main challenges of dosing into these vertical formats is maintaining high speeds without product breakage. ILAPAK ensures gentle handling by designing dedicated multihead weighers with low drop and high speed options. The VT 6000 will be shown integrated with ILAPAK’s Weightronic WA 16-10 Slim multihead weigher. This full washdown multihead combination weigher was conceived for applications where hygiene, accuracy, reliability and flexibility are paramount. The WA 16-10 Slim is available with three hopper options, including large volume hoppers for extremely high speed lines. Come and see us Visitors are warmly invited to visit ILAPAK’s booth to see these machines in action and to answer any questions they might have on our vertical and horizontal packaging technologies.
