BIO
Jim Yamouridis formed The Stream, a Melbourne group and released two albums, Origin (2000) and
You, My Friend (2002) both co-produced by Conway Savage (The Bad Seeds). His songs have been
interpreted on stage and on record by artists such as PJ Harvey singing The Rider and Conway
Savage recording The Cross.
In 2002 Jim Yamouridis moved to France where he recorded his first solo album The Name of This
Place, released to critical acclaim in 2005.
His next album Travelling Blind was produced and arranged by Seb Martel (guitarist with French
sensation ‘M’, Salif Keita, Las Ondas Marteles & Charlotte Gainsbourg, to name a few) and released
in France in 2008, once again critically acclaimed. Jim was accompanied by outstanding musicians,
including Camille on backing vocals for the title track.
Yamouridis performs extensively in France. He has opened for touring artists such as Belle and
Sebastian, Blonde Redhead, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Lucky Peterson, Melissa Leveaux, the Young Gods
and French artists such as Serge Teyssot-Gay of Noir Désir, Jean-Louis Murat, Alain Bashung, Daniel
Darc, Moriarty and Emily Loiseau.
He has toured Ireland with Conway Savage and prepared a special evening of rembetika music
(Greek blues) with leading exponent Nicolaos Syros (Mikis Theodorakis, Paris Philharmonic
Orchestra) for the 2008 Europavox festival.
