ABOUT THE PRODUCERS
Dances of Vice
Founded by Shien Lee, Dances of Vice began in New York in 2007 as a venue showcasing an exotic mélange of art, performance and music influenced by that special
time in history, the 1920s and 30s. Since then, it has blossomed to include Victorian
and Rococo themed events with a New Romantic flair, attracting a sordidly splendid
menagerie of elegant dandies, aesthetes, dreamers and ne'er-do-wells who gather in
shared enthusiasm for the music, fashion, culture, and beauty of times forgotten.
Dances of Vice incorporates a myriad of magnificent influences of the past in Dadaistic celebration of the liberating effects of beauty, fantasy and surrealism. More info - www.dancesofvice.com
The Salon
The Salon has been producing unique events for more than ten years featuring live
jazz, big band, burlesque dancing and artisan cocktails as well as art and performances of all kind. Inspired by the Parisian salons from the late 19th and early 20th century, composer and music producer Patrick Soluri begun hosting Salons in his apartment in 2001. Quickly outgrowing his apartment, THE SALON is now held at some
of New York's top venues such as The Edison Ballroom, The Players Club and
Galapagos Art Space, among others. Featuring some of the best musicians, artists and dancers in New York City,
The Salon has gained a reputation as one of the best parties in New York specializing in multi-level live music and
dance events, with multiple acts performing simoultaneaously, often ranging from 25-60 performers per event. The
Salon pulls on average from 250 to 500+ guests per event -- from swing dancers to Loungers, to music aficionados,
and everyone in between. More info - www.thesalon.biz
Wit’s End
Premiering in February 2009, Wit's End is New York's monthly celebration of Jazz
Age lifestyle, music, and aesthetics; and is brought to you by Diane Naegel and Don
Spiro. We celebrate the elegance and flair of New York nightlife of days gone by with
a vintage cocktail menu, free dance lesson, live hot jazz, and guests having a jaunty
evening in their 1920s/30s best. Loungers, dancers, neo-flappers, vintage lovers, and
nostalgia junkies combine to form a truly unique melange on the last Saturday of the
month at Flute Bar- Midtown (formerly Texas Guinan's speakeasy, Club Intime). More info - www.clubwitsend.com
The Champagne Riot
The Champagne Riot serves up an intoxicating cocktail of Hot Jazz, Scintillating
Burlesque and Vaudevillian Frivolity. This fizzy-buzzy party and performance event
takes as its inspiration the early twentieth century’s American spirit of rebellion and
celebration. Each Riot features live music, old glamour burlesque, and a variety of
vaudeville and circus performers. Cultivating an aesthetic of “vintage fantasy”, The
Champagne Riot combines elements both new and old to create an atmosphere that
is at once both nostalgic and entirely novel. The Champagne Riot is produced by burlesque artist Miss Jezebel
Express, jazz sweethearts Gelber & Manning, tap-dancing talent Gin Minsky, and that most elegant of emcees,
Dandy Wellington.

the hit web series Gintown, which features performances by their band and an original
score. Music from their first album is featured in the Alvin Ailey ballet "Uptown." They
recently released their second album, Moonlight Picnic, and are currently working on a
musical about Storyville, New Orleans, entitled" Where All The Rivers Go To Sleep." More info - www.gelberandmanning.com

BURLESQUE DANCERS
The Minsky Sisters
Taking their lead from Bill "Bojangles" Robinson and Anita Berber to the tunes of jazz
greats, like Cab Calloway and King Oliver, the Minsky Sisters have been scandalizing the
international tap community for two years with their sensational brand of brisk and brilliantly beautiful tap majesty. They've been featured in the pages of the NY Times, NY Post,
Zelda Magazine, AM New York, & Providence Pulse, as well as on the big screen in
"Gelber & Manning in Pictures." They are currently working with the performing arts

Maine captivates audiences and bystanders every time she hits the stage. Energetic, sensual, wildly creative,
spontaneous and romantic, this bronze beauty has been performing since the day she popped out of the
womb! A ball of fire that lights up any stage, Maine, with her uninhibited movement, sexuality, rhythm, and
sense of humor, blends ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, African, belly dance, samba, freestyle, improvisation,
contortion, and yoga, into a whirlwind she has coined,"Burlesque Fusion." Labeled the Nubian Lucille Ball
with a Josephine Baker twist, Maine's Fusion forges a link between live instrumentation, DJ's, multimedia,
Spoken Word and the Art of Dance. Her free spirit empowers her movement to organically tell the story
inside the music and reveal truths beyond the power of language. More info - www.themaineattraction.com

Gal Friday
After years of desk jockeying for "the man", this Gal Friday decided to take her talents and apply them to the
stage. The lady that once typed 70 words a minute, equipped with a clever quip playing on her lip, is now
one of New York's Burly-Q bombshells. She co-produces "The Skullduggery & Skin Show" in Washington
D.C. Miss Friday has the honor of being nominated for a Golden Pastie for 'Best Newcomer 2007' at the NY

THE LIBERTY BELLE SPECTACULAR 2011
Medianoche
Medianoche has been described as appearing in the New York City burlesque scene "out of nowhere, fully
formed, like Athena from the head of Zeus". Born and raised in sunny Spain, trained in flamenco and tango
dance -- she brings a distinctly European je ne sais quoi to venues as varied as Duane Park, Highline
Ballroom, and Nurse Bettie. Although always at her best when emerging from Isis wings, rhinestoned flower
petals, or her signature red pheasant feathers, Medianoche also dances tango professionally and shares her
costume construction and act design skills with fellow performers.
